Congratulations Greg - you're officially getting old Looks like the layout is progressing well. Looking forward to running trains with you next weekend. If anyone else in the group is interested, June 3-4 at the Puyallup Fairgrounds is the NMRA train show. Looking good! Happy Belated Birthday, too! Look the bright side--car insurance get cheaper every year... ...Not that the price of gas doesn't offset that savings..
She's beginning to come alive... This is going to be a long, long building process... I want to get somewhat more detailed on this one than I did on my Renslow Trestle. I have included so far almost every truss cross beam as seen on the real one. For now a break until my special order on parts comes in. I cleaned out my local train shop! I now move to laying more sagebrush. Now this seems like I'll never finish as this stuff was everywhere in the saddles! Also, school is finally out. That means more time for model trains!!!
I'm looking forward to seeing this! It'll win every award ever offered!   Boxcab E50
Paul, Here is a picture of the bridge I am beginning to build. As hemi said, it will be huge! Ken, awards sound cool!
Hello guys, So I've been away for a while only because I've been so busy. I finished school and got busy working with my dad in real estate. I am buying my first piece of land! It’s in the Okanogan area right along the Okanogan River. 13 acres!!! This is something I have wanted to do for a long time. I hope to hold onto it for a little while and let the property value rise. Then use the money I make off of it to buy the piece of eastern wa land I really want so I can build my own home. Sorry to rant was just excited. I will have some more preview stuff here for you soon. I am getting ready to take off tomorrow to go and ride the ROW again. I will be taking many more photos as well. Will have pictures of the heartbreak curves, Rye and Doris to share. I am also meeting with the heritage center again this coming weekend for the train exhibit. So I'll fill you in on that as well. Many more things to come here as the year ends, so look out!
Hmmmm. I wonder where that land is, that he really wants? Could it be something next to, or possibly former Milw acreage? Boxcab E50
I would love to get some property next to some old milw trackage, I know of a few that are available. But really I would like to find something on or overlooking the columbia river in the Trinidad and south areas, but nothing below beverly. problem is a lot of it is either military owned or state owned. Anyhow trip was good and all when well! I should have photos ready soon. I took a few of the old doris site and various other places.
I just got my pictures returned to me from my trip and will be spending the next week uploading them. I also have some photos I took of my layout (Renslow section) with the backgrounds completed. I took photos outside (very quickly) to get the natural sunlight to stimulate the Eastern Wa, look and feel. However, I cannot post them at this time as I am awaiting confirmation from a mag about whether they will run the photos. So until the issue is released, my renslow section pics will have to wait. But I will try to keep you all going with some building pics of the Columbia River Bridge at Beverly. Until then here is a picture of Mt. Rainer from Renslow.
