Okay, so finally snapped a quick pic of the first section of the Columbia River Bridge at Beverly. This section is one of the last pieces on the west side of the bridge and is almost complete. It just needs some small details and then it will be time to move on to another section just like this one. I will be doing the handrails and wooden walkway, along with bridge piers, last. Enjoy!

    OK, dumb question:
The 2 sets of rails exiting Beverly Bridge--where does each go?

I presume you're looking at the west end of The Bridge? If so, the rails heading north, are the transcon main line. The rails south, are the Hanford Line. There was also a wye configuration, as part of the branch, there at one time.

If looking at the east end, the rails heading north, are part of the Beverly Wye. Used to turn helper power. Especially during steam days.

I'm looking at the pic above--I dunno what side's west or east.
Hanford--the US Dept. of Energy facility?

The direction the loco is headed is west and as it turns to its right it will head north.

yes the US Dept. of Energy facility.

So you could, in theory, use a set of the Delux Innovations radioactive hoppers.....
A set of them sitting on the siding, glowing all evil-like...

    OOH! :lightbulb:
I could buy a set, and have them in consist of a Rocky Flats local.. Rocky Flats, CO is the site of another DoE facility, served by D&RGW, and still served by present-day UP. :shade:

In the distance, you can see that mighty metropolis of Beverly. Ha ha.

This photo appears to have been taken from up near the road. Just take the exit off I-90 at Vantage, for the road which heads south toward Wanapum Dam.

This is what the scene looks like today. In fact Eastern WA was having a few forest fires and the smoke drifted down to the Columbia River that day I took this photo. It looks like it came from east of Beverly. Notice the Hanford branch line is now private property. He planted trees along it to create a wind blockade for his orchards

The road Ken is speaking of is called Huntzinger Rd. I parked along side of it to take this photo.

It'll look better, when your scene is recreated. With shiny rails, and proud trains!
