Hi. I'm not sure where to post this so I thought I'd start here. I was in Forest Park here in Portland, Oregon and noticed the equipment depicted here on Firelane 7A. It has Union Pacific decals on it and it's facing tracks down the hill, next to the Willamette River. Does anyone know what this equipment is? Thanks. In the distant past, I worked for an engineering firm. One project we completed was installing an item of which this one reminds me, albeit much larger. It was what we nicknamed a "bounce board". Used to literally bounce telecommunications signals down into a valley near where I lived. (A couple of decades before cell phones.) The tower from which the signal would come and go, was line-of-sight, and signals could not reach it directly, from down in that valley. This might be what it was used for. But it may not be any longer, with the way cell communications are now. If brush and trees have grown up in front of it, likely it is no longer in service.
Thanks. It's pointed toward the BNSF Willbridge Yard, which is down the hill by the river, so that makes sense.
