Welcome back everyone to the gateway to the weekend. I hope you all had a good week and for those traveling, safe travels. Let's see what we have planned for the weekend.

Saturday: No real model railroading today. I'll sleep in and then will be on my way to the airport to fly home for a week. My dad is having surgery, so I'll be watching over him and the property while working from the other home office. It will likely be a day of traveling with a very late arrival to home.

Sunday: I'll sleep in a bit and have coffee with dad, then we'll need to get some groceries and other supplies. If we have a chance, I'll take a look around Concord and the former B&M Concord yard as CSX was down there the last time, I was home in September. Dad and I need to work on one of the electrical boxes and set it up for a 30 Amp / 110 RV style set up for when Ang, her dad and I show up in a few weeks for the 100th Laconia Motorcycle Rally. Any time left will be spent on planning meals for the week and projects that need to get wrapped up before dad's surgery.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll come back again on Monday the 22nd to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and as always...

    High Greens!

There is a festival this weekend on the Air Force base where I live and work in western Tokyo. It’s an annual event where they open the base up a bit and display U.S. military and Japanese Self-Defense Force equipment to the public. It was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID. We went last year and my kids had a great time so I think that will consume the majority of the weekend. They got to climb around in A bunch of airframes like C-130s and C-17s and CV-22s and I got to bore them with some stories about my time in the 82nd Airborne jumping from planes and riding in a few different types of rotary wing aircraft during deployments to Iraq and Haiti.

I think I flooded the Random Prototype thread with a bunch of photos from this event last year-probably do the same this year-my apologies in advance.

In the margins, I will keep weathering some carbon black hoppers. I’ve got two that are nearly done. Just need some more weathering powder and they should be good to go.

Moose is going to be boring and just do things around the house... :( and maybe sneak in some paint touch-up of some previously airbrushed rolling stock... :sneaky:

    Happy Friday all!
Well, it's here, my son graduates high school tomorrow morning. There will be an open house/graduation party at our place in the afternoon. All the free time this week has been consumed by the wife needing help to get everything the way she wants it before the events tomorrow. Saturday may see a couple of trains earning revenue miles for some guest but that will probably be all. Sunday might see a small amount of train time but my guess is most of the time will be spent helping the wife organize and get everything back to how she wants it.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!!

Likely I'll be up on the roof for part of the weekend working with our landlord on roof deck repairs before we get the roof inspected for replacement shingles as part of the solar installation project.

Some tasks I'd like to accomplish over the weekend:

    1. Build a small temporary rack for a couple solar panels for my off-grid office as we pulled the panels off the roof last weekend and they are laying on the ground behind our garden.
    2. tear down a bit more of my old layout and organize / consolidate stuff that is underneath it.
    3. More work on commercial LCC products that will be announced later this summer.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes for my wife.

At the moment everything is being dictated by my wife’s breathing issues. Yesterday she did not have any major attacks but a series of small, minor attacks usually lasting about 5 to 10 minutes. The attacks are coming sometimes 15 minutes apart, other times they are two hours apart. We are pulling our hair out trying to determine the triggers. The latest suspect is her deodorant. Did you know unscented deodorant has perfume in it to make it unscented? I have a feeling this is going to determine what happens this weekend. She has an appointment with the allergist on Wednesday and an appointment with a pulmonologist the following week.

If we are able there are a bunch of yard things we would like to do. We have window boxes to get plants for and set up. There are water lilies that need some care. I also need to clean and set up the pond filter.

If I can, I would like to decal the Stewart NYO&W F3B-unit, the FTA-unit, and FTB-unit. I have some cars to tune up and inventory. I would like to run some trains.

Good morning from sunny and warm Northeast Ohio!

Friday, hope to finish up a 60' Concor Greenville Auto Parts car and get it painted, also need to mask off the Moloco RBL and paint the ends. Then later this evening will be going out to dinner with my Son and his wife to celebrate his birthday and a late Mother's day celebration at my niece's restaurant in Ohio City.

Saturday, Monthly club meeting, first one I have attended since February, then hope to run some trains and see some people we normally don't see at our Saturday sessions. Later in the day will start decaling a covered hopper and the 60' auto parts car.

Sunday, late rising and then we have choir practice in the afternoon, hope to work on the decaling and what other projects I have time for.

MetraMan - We used to enjoy the annual open house at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, got to see AWACS, B1's, B52's and many other planes while on base. Really liked when the F15's would do their vertical take offs, very impressive.

    Good morning everyone,

After a few nice warm days we are back to cool and windy in Northern California. We have our niece and her boyfriend coming over on Saturday so today I'll be doing some extra house cleaning. Other than that I'll continue to be getting things ready for the convention in Reno. Wishing you a pleasant weekend whatever you are doing.

I haven't posted here in a long time as I spend most of my time on another group. I think I can handle 2 groups :) Anywayyy... I haven't done a thing for a couple of weeks but it's time for laying some plaster cloth and that's my Saturday morning plan.
    Here's where I''m at.

    Hey All,

Hope you have a good one. Here, planning to work on my concept for a 50-ft boxcar for the fantasy/alternate history "Wichita & Northwestern." I printed up some decals and am trying for a good "Shocker Yellow" for an Accurail model. I'll also try to get some of the covered hoppers out to friends.

Hey Guys -- been a little while since I have written, so a bit of update is in order

I have started a new digital model railroad project -- its loosely based on the montana Hi-Line and Kootenai River Sub-divisions. there will be some additions. I have the track laid (mostly) between Havre MT and Shelby Mt at the moment -- I am starting to get bits and pieces of structures and scenery assembled. My goals for this weekend are to get JMRI Set up and working me too -- and start getting cars input and ready to go etc. I'd like to run a few revenue trains this weekend, but we'll have to see

I need to add track to my upper staging before building and placing the lower level. It will just be easier to stand on flat ground rather than on a step stool to get it done. Then I will begin lower level benchwork for the active yard. I would like to turn that corner but want the lower level in place for more accurate alignment as the module along the garage door will be one free standing double deck piece. The back of it will be a tool holder.
