Welcome back everyone. I hope you all had a productive weekend. Thank you for all the well wishes on Friday, it has been a long time coming but I'm happy to be married to the girl of my dreams. I also want to thank Russel Straw for conducting the threads in my absence. Now let's get started.

Saturday: I started the day working on the tractor. My father-in-law came over to provide assistance and by lunch we had engineered and completed a solution. By 4:00pm we were wrapping up the final assembly and now the tractor is ready for another season. We finished the night by spending one last meal at Ang and I's favorite Polynesian restaurant. It was their last night as they have decided to close after 40 years. Ang and I are fast running out of places to eat out as neither one of us enjoy fast food or chains.

Sunday: Ang and I started the day by going to this big antique show they call 3rd Sunday Market. I'm always on the quest for suitable replacement items as well as cool RR items. Ang picked up a few things for her collection, but I turned up empty handed. After the show I started working on the NTrak module. I had a hard time getting motivated and did not get as far as I would like but the skyboards are done, and I hope to stain this week. Other than dial in my braking for my Athearn B&M GP9 with the Proto Throttle, I did not get much done.

So how about you? What did you accomplish? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday the 20th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    Good mornin to Y'all

May is now half over --

I made some great progress on my projects.

My friends NYO&W loco's are just about done. Decaling is complete. Need a bit of paint touch up.

The H12-44 is coming along great. Decals are complete, hand rails are complete. A few more details need to be added as well as painting the aforementioned hand rails. One more weekend --

Hope Y'all had a great weekend - and, hope Y'all have a great week!!

Saturday morning I peddled for over 50 miles on bike ride with a group from the local bike shop. Knocked out a number of projects around the house and in the yard. Picked up my wife at the airport. She has been spending a lot of time with her folks who are in their 90s. Her mom has dementia and her dad is the primary caregiver. Poor guy is at his wits end.
Sunday morning did a solo bike ride in the cool morning before it got blazing hot.
I did get in some modeling. Stripped an old Atlas/Rivarossi 12-1 Pullman to upgrade it with new Microtrains trucks, Gold Metal Models step boxes, AC ducts on the roof and AC detail under the frame. Now to paint it.

Pretty much got everything done that I expected to.
Just playing with designes for 'geomorphic' units to build a 'super-mega-ultra-ginormous' tower, (In N-Scale) ☻

Not much train related directly. I've been sorting through belongings and bringing them to my garage stale. This morning the Habitat for Humanity Thrift will be picking up a load. That removes the unusable. Like wood working, electrical and mechanics tools.
Then I can make more room in the apartment by moving some to the storage locker.
    Have a nice week all.

I did not get done what I wanted to, but some progress was made.

Friday, I managed to paint a PC&F 57' Mechanical Reefer, then went to dinner with my son and his wife celebrating his 30th Birthday.

Saturday, went to the club and then to my LHS which is closing due to the owner's retirement. Picked up some supplies and paint for the future. In the evening I managed to get some decaling done.

Sunday, was a wasted day, spoke numerous times with my daughter in California, her washing machine went belly up and the water went thru the ceiling to the first floor of their apartment. Also spent a lot of time with relatives explaining the heart problems and the anticipated surgery.

Nothing done on the layout. Did some exterior work, repairing some woodpecker damage to my siding, and then repainting that area and window trim. Next is to replace some of the deck floorboards. Got in some running and a bike ride on Sunday morning.

Yesterday I learned that a disturbed teenager that murdered 10 innocent people in cold blood went to my high school. I simply can't recall anyone fifty years ago having disturbing and hateful tendencies like that when I attended there. The educators were good people, and I remember most of my class mates being respectful and decent. What is it that causes such evil and hatred that makes someone want to take innocent lives? My deepest sympathies to the victims and their families. Sorry for the off topic screed, but I feel it is a subject we can no longer ignore.

    Good morning all,

As expected, I spent a good amount of time this weekend getting things ready for a camping trip this week. I did get some time in the train room and worked on the foot bridge. Now have the basic structure of the deck built. Looked through some scraps of fencing and railings and like the look of some Atlas fencing to use as a railing on this deck. The bases for the stair towers are built up and all of my tallest rolling stock now clear.

Progression of a scene: The last few photos show my weekend progress.
I have worked on this layout on and off over quite a few years. After ensuring the trackwork is reliable and changing to a new ESU wireless DCC system for my sound equipped locomotives, I am finally to the point of making some decent progress with scenery. Here are a few shots showing how the Cornwall Bridge scene on my N scale layout has progressed over a few years.

Mostly exhausted from work the week prior and catching up on chores, so not as much as usual accomplished.

Ended up weathering some MT hoppers:

Spent some time trading emails with a retired railroad friend. We discussed all kinds of topics, from depots, to train orders, employee timetables and searching to verify their old telegraph calls. Saturday I received the Kato double crossover which had been ordered, and got track on module #3 basically laid out. Now just making a couple of small tweaks, before permanent attachment. Next am contemplating a small waterway on the final (#4) module. I really like how the Kato truss bridges look and want to include a pair of them. So I need to create the perfect excuse... Ha ha.

Yes. A sad weekend for many. I am hoping for better times. Dementia is indeed hard on loved ones. I hope some help is available. Pics above look great. Scenery is first class. (y) Busy chore weekend. I did get three hopper bodies mounted on center beams. :) Two need adjusting. I should be able to do all by week's end. (y) All be safe and have a good week. :D

Greetings and nice work all. Got some reading done while in Hatteras. Ordered a new Digitrax throttle, found a good high-mounted nose bell for the C&O RSD 7's I am working on from a 3 D printer. Also had 2 conversations w/ the guy that is going to paint my brass C&O F19. Also got the numbers of 2 guys recommended to put DCC in brass. Besides that I've had several mint juleps and grilled a VERY fresh swordfish that I scored from the docks yesterday as it came in. Dude was swimming out in the Gulf Stream early morning yesterday and on our dinner plate last night.

Back to normal in a couple of days.

    Have a great week all!

    That's nice. It's definitely a spot I'd visit if I were an N Scale railfan. (y)

    @nscalestation - that's a nice bridge kitbash, but it strikes me as a LOOOOOONG unsupported span . . .

As expected, no trains for me! But I am 105 linear feet into the 234 linear feet of 1:1 fence rebuilding so there's that.

Yes it is long but compressed from the prototype that spans across several more tracks that were later removed. The prototype has a few supports, my model will have one.
