    (n) ok so i torn up most of my old layout because it just was not doing it for me. im still working on a plan for modules so i can build a whole new layout thats portable . but untill then ive started an add on to my original layout that about 50% done. my original layout is 3 foot wide x 7foot + inches and the add on is 1 foot wide + inches. im asking for opinions on this if you please. im just trying to get something temp so i can enjoy it more till i get my new layout all together . :)

I remember this plan from your question regarding power wiring and auto-reversing (DCC).

It is a very nice plan. The loop is optimized to run trains clockwise primarily. You have run-around ability, and could run counter-clockwise by putting a back-back pair of locos on either end of the train via those run-around sidings (assuming modern era w/o cabooses.) But all spurs are trailing point w/clockwise running.

That implies you will also generally back a train from the loop into the yard. If you want to run forward into the yard occasionally, you will need to add a run-around capability somewhere towards the left end of the yard (to get the loco out from behind the train you just pulled it into the yard.)

You could add reversing ability to the layout by adding a second lead from the yard to the back track of the oval. But then you'll need a auto-reverser. This option creates a wye with the two yard leads, and the bottom/outer end of the loop track between them.

This was the first thing I noticed. Overlooking an escape for any train headed into the yard.

ive been thinking about some way for a turn around .
i just dont know how to get that accomplished in a 1 foot or poss 1.5 foot wide area. i do have an auto reverser that was planned for a different layout that never came to fruit. now you got me thinking how to get a wye in there. all this will be temp till i get a new table setup figured out. im very open to an idea for this turn around......just has to be in the 1 to 1.5 foot wide bench witch could be 6 foot long maybe 7 foot instead of 4 foot long like on the plan.
