What do you use for rolling stock? I prefer bay window caboose's to bring up the rear of my trains. Lumber is major source of revinue, so I have box cars and flats. I plan on a cement plant and will be using covered hoppers. Also I plan on grain coming in for the area ranchers and dairies. There won't be much call for tank cars, auto racks or TOF equipment.
Greg; I have sorta settled into watching the big cranes working wrecks, building bridges, and load/unloading flats, etc. So no I have made up some MOW equipment. I have all kinds of cabooses, cabeeses, crummies, conductor's offices, and privies. My present interest is in switching, MOW, and running rotary snow plows up to clear one of the four passes I have. Most work is done around my roundhouse, but I have a main line, two short lines, and a logging road to keep serviced, so a lot of switching. Can run four trains at once, but that can get tricky, makes it fun! ------------------ Watash

STACKS, FLATS AND RACKS! Modern and rebuilt boxcars, grain and pelletized plastic commodity cars. For the time being, we don't haul any petro-chem, but that may change because change is the only constant in modern railroading. ------------------ Brent Tidaback, Member #234 BNSF Railfan-to-the Max and a N-Scaler to boot! E-8, was that your Budwieser tank car I saw on the club layout? Where did you get the lables? So that is what the siding at the Frat House was for! Ha. ------------------ Watash
COAL, COAL, COAL !! I have mostly coal Hoppers(CSX & Ex-Conrail)bound for Grafton, WV , and Coal Mines points south , Assorted modern Boxcars to just about anywhere, Quite a few Auto Racks  bound to Pittsburgh & Cumberland, Few Chemical cars bound for cumberland Clarksburgh and Elsewhere, and Plenty of Bulk head flats for Machinery I lumber. A few *single* slack cars from pittsburgh to Cumberland/Baltimore, and some TOFCs. *single*... one container perwell, because of low tunnel clearances . ------------------ Appalachian & Atlantic Model Railroad "QUALITY at WORK with SAFTEY in MIND"

I have an eclectic mixture of equipment, but I have discovered a weakness of mine when it comes to collecting equipment: modern shortline boxcars. Go figgure, of all the things I could collect, I choose the one thing that is often overlooked. (But, thanks to MDC and Micro-Trains, there is no shortage of the boogers!) About half of my operable fleet is made of boxcars, and of those, the majority belong to shortlines and being 50' in length. Here's how it breaks down:

50' Double Sliding Door - Milwaukee Road
53' Double Plug Door - Minneapolis Northfield & Southern
50' Single Plug Door Insulated - Fruit Growers Express
50' Double Sliding Door - Apache Railway
50' Single Plug Door Insulated - CSX
60' Double Plug Door Waffle Side - Milwaukee Road
50' Double Sliding Door - Western Maryland (Chessie)
50' Single Sliding Door - Lamoille Valley
50' Double Sliding Door - Camino, Placerville & Lake Tahoe
50' Single Sliding Door - St. Mary's Railroad
50' Combo Door - Canadian Nat'l (Railbox Repaint)
50' Combo Door - Canadian Nat'l (Railbox Repaint)
50' Combo Door - Canadian Nat'l (Railbox Repaint)
50' Single Sliding Door - CSX (St. Lawerence Repaint)
50' Single Sliding Door - Delaware & Hudson (Guilford Rail Systems)
40' Single Plug Door - Detroit, Toledo & Ironton
50' Single Plug Door Insulated - Penn Central
50' Single Sliding Door - Appalaciacola Northern
50' Double Plug Door - Vermont Railway [/list] Have I bored you all yet? ------------------ Brian Schmidt railohio@hotmail.com ICQ #21630753 AIM - railohio [This message has been edited by BrianS (edited 10 October 2000).]
Me personally, I like coal. I've got 53 (at current count) 5 bay hoppers relettered for MoPac, that drag along nicely behind my Kato SD 40-2's. I finally also got all the pieces and info together, so now I've got my first MP trilevel coming on line. ------------------ Jenks - the REAL Big Blue
