About 10 years ago from my window through the trees:

This is the last one I'll post from my window, (well, for now).
Would love to know what type of locomotive that is.

Love to help with its identity, but it went by so fast that even the stop-frame was blurred. :(

@digimar52 Thanks! Cute, but, no, does not look like much traction.

Southwest Chief at Manuelito, NM [10/22/1996] That first dome car (not sure what Amtrak calls them) is cut in at a strange location in the train, trailing the Material Handling Cars and ahead of the baggage car.

Well, that's unusual! I wonder if the observation lounge (I donno what it's called) was being deadheaded.

I would guess the same. Either being moved for service elsewhere, or something is bad order and it is en route to a shop.

Yessir, DHing I think as well. No way to into the car other than side entries, cant do that at 80mph. I am always amazed at how many AMTK cars are DH'ed.

Caught Amtrak 91, the Silver Star in daylight running nine hours late on the former SAL main at Lugoff, SC on Friday, 10/29/2021. A derailment on the former RF&P the previous day messed everything up. 91 met 92 at tiny Wallace, SC 60 miles north of here at one of the few sidings CSX has left in place on the line.

Extracted from a cell phone video:
Amtrak AC On Grey November day Just past Hyde Park cropped.jpg
It was a grey day and yucky. Still, warm for November.

10 Minute vid but boring unless you like to hear me ramble, Amtrak, Regional, (like pic above) Acela and MBTA Kawasaki Bi-Levls

Buried in vegetation, the Edmonds, Washington station (nee: Great Northern Railway.) Kind of an oasis setting. Especially on a hot summer afternoon:

Spent many a day hanging out there back in the 70's as a kid, great memories! Dad got us all tickets to take the BN version of the Empire Builder from here to Wenatchee and back, early 1971. I was only 6 at the time, but remember it all-conductor gave us some old "BSB" GN pins, and he even got us some apples from the cold storage across from the BN depot in Wenatchee!;)

Thanks so much for this pic, Boxcab!(y)

Amtrak's Palmetto rips through Mars Bluff, SC on the former ACL main on 11/21/2015. I botched my first picture here after clicking the shutter button too late. Track speed for passenger trains at this spot is 79 MPH!
