Let's get this party started! With temps in the mid 80s this week in NoDak, we'll cool it off with a crew thawing a frozen knuckle (see the torch bottle near the plow on the ground): And in typically crummy weather, CPKC 149, the daily Chicago-Vancouver intermodal, passes the historic 1912 Soo Line depot in Minot:
From a drizzly 07/23/1976 at Hopewell, NJ, freight is on the move. CR is only four months old, but it's business as usual on the RDG mainline. The route has but one track today with the signal bridges (and abandoned tower unseen) all removed. Photo processed in my pre-digital age basement darkroom.
Here's a view from a Delta 737-900 on approach to Newark Liberty International airport on 5/23/2023 at about 11am. Lots of subway cars and a pair of NJ Transit trains about to pass each other.
Wow, that is a cool shot! After much business travel and my parent's funerals, I've seen enough of Newark airport to last me multiple lifetimes.
Two shots from in and around Hearne, Texas taken over a quarter of a century apart. Can you figure out which was from February 1996? I wish I had actually used Kodachrome in my NIKON for the one instead of cheap print film in a crappy camera.
