Paid a visit to an old friend the other day. A few of you may recognize her from a little dust up she was involved in back in April 1862. Had been a while since I had been to the museum but the Eagle Scout ceremony my son and I were part of last Saturday was held there so it was a great chance to grab another pic.

In July of 2012 at Shafffer's Crossing, Roanoke, VA. I saw this tucked away in the yard from a ways off. Not very good place for photos.

From yesterday on an overcast afternoon at Heath Springs, SC on the eastern end of the Lancaster & Chester. This is a remaining segment of an old SOU route, completed in 1848. Most of the line was abandoned in the 1980s, with this purchased by the L&C in 2001. Those are former CSX SD-60Ms. Love that jointed rail. (y)

In the first one you caught a rare (and really cool) one - CR 4101, an EMD SD80MAC, a 5000-hp, 20-cylinder 710-engined beast! Only Conrail!

Just a garden-variety SD60 in the Minot CP yard.

Someone planted some new flowers in that garden!o_O

Other than a very different grille/filter over the central air intake, the very small print under the road number seems to be "SD60-3". Rebuild likely.

But you've got to love that classic EMD look. :)

Rebuilt in 2017 #6300-6307 are former SOO Line 6000 series, upgraded to SD60-3 standards and repainted by NRE, SIlvis, IL. (http://www.trainweb.org/cprdieselroster/CP 6300 Page 1.htm)
I love that classic Spartan cab!

This week in Spencer, Ohio (Wheeling and Lake Erie) they dropped a couple empty coal cars on the ground - -no damage really -- just took em a bit to get things cleaned up -- I went over to have a look see. Got a few pics

The quality isnt great b/c my phone camera isnt great 20230517_151306.jpg 20230517_151245.jpg 20230517_151221.jpg 20230517_151302.jpg

Light rail tracks outside Jerusalem. I have train pictures too, but since I took them from a distance from a moving bus, I need to edit them before I post them. [IMG]

Way better than mine. Very good photos nonetheless, nice and sharp. I like the W&LE scheme. :)

Ya, me too -- I'm told that the owner (or past owner maybe) really liked the old Denver and Rio Grande Black and orange scheme, and copied it -- I have no proof other than when I was younger there were a bunch of black and orange DRG locomotives in medina

These have gotten new paint and look really good

The closest I've been to the Jerusalem light rail. In the last picture, i was a fraction of a second late, but you can just see the back of the train. This was only a few blocks from the Old City. We will pass through that area again over the next several days, and I will definitely be watching to see if I can do better. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
