I model the Rock Island from 1965 to 1974 as long as it is not in the ROCK blue era. This allows the use of all sorts of models and paint schemes from F-2's to SD-40-2's.

Its 1974..but sometimes things get returned to 1968..
I model the N&W from the years of of 1954- 1964. This enables me to run late steam(E-2/3 Pacifics, M-1/2, and Ys)and diesel all the way to the merger of NKP,WAB,IT,PWV into the system. Mainly I model early Geeps(7,9,18) and Alcos(RS-3,11) and No GE I do dabble in the late stuff (dash 2s and some others), but for me it is mainly steam.Have a good one and till next time, Justin May
D&H/Rutland, B&M in the early 50s, CSX present, as well as UP in the present (N scale). ------------------ Corey Lynch VP - Rensselaer Model RR Society NEB&W RR [This message has been edited by Harron (edited 20 April 2000).]
Modeling SP/SSW/DRGW from 1986 to 1996....mix of Kodachromes, Speed Lettered units, leased units, and some Espee units with the full light shows thrown in. No Borg! BTW - Welcome to Trainboard, Harron, if you are the same one that posts on Trainorders! ------------------ Have A Nice Day! [This message has been edited by Mankind (edited 04 June 2000).]
Modern! However, I am a short line/regional carrier in BC that has interchange with MCRS, CPR, and BCR. We have mostly earlier diesels (SD35*, SD45, GP35, SW1200 ect..) but have ALOT of CP trains and equipment come through, so we allso get a taste of the modern. SD90s, when released, and the new snoots (with a smaller maulti mark) will rule the rails of the lower level of the layout run by my dad. It is a nice setup My dad is the big guy with CP, and I am the little with a regional! Happy Railroading! Dane N. ------------------ TAMR2860-AKA BC Rail King TAMR2860@hotmail.com
I modeling HO DRGW from Denver to Moffat Tunnel, eventually to Bond. 1968-1984. Broad time range, but I can run passenger and modern coal trains. Not together of course . Pretty soon I'll have an 28'x72' basement to run my 50 locos and 300 plus cars. That's alot of trackwork and scenary Mike
Modern for me as well. Although I do have some "ancient" power from other railroads (such as C30-7's from BN, SF, some painted in BNSF, B30-7AB's, U33C from BN and SP, B23-7/B30-7's from BNSF, SP, CSX, CR) as well as the newest GE power like the C44, AC44, and AC60. A lot of the older power is still in the original scheme, just have our identifying numbers and marks. As an all GE road, passenger service is equipped with P42's and P32's, including the Beachcomber Commuter. BCHX also is the only one with what I call P42GI, basically a GE equipped F59PHI (EMD supplied the shells, GE everything else). I am currently working on a history of Interwest Rail System, and as soon as I finish it, will post it on here.

I model the last five years of the Frisco's existence (1975 to November 21, 1980). For grins, however, I do have some older diesels in black & yellow- a GE 44-tonner, an Alco RS1, one GP7 in full black & yellow cat-whisker treatment, a U25B, and an RS2M. The balance of the roster is Mandarin orange & yellow. ------------------ Ship IT on the Frisco! Bob T.
Ooops- this is what happens when my internal spell check is not used :O I meant to say the majority of my motive power is Mandarin orange (a reddish-orange) and WHITE. Carry on............ ------------------ Ship IT on the Frisco! Bob T.
I model the Burlington Northern in the era of 1975-1980. I gave myself a five year window so I can still run predecessor paint schemes, my Bicentennial units, F-units, ALCo's and old GE's. While I currently do not have the space for a large layout, my future plan is to model a portion of the Northern Coal Corridor, specifically the line between Jamestown and Mandan, ND. Say what you will, but I love it here in North Dakota. I hope to capture the vastness of the countryside and the look of the abandoned "ghost towns". I have found that not many people are interested in this era of railroading, so if you are, contact me!!!
M&CRS (MCRS) is based in the present and interchanges with Chessie System (CSXT is seaboard on my layout Chessie merged with Conrail and kept the name Chessie),MRL/EBCRL,NS,Gulford,CN,CPR It is a Regional that went Class 1 by asorbing extra Chessie/CR line after the merger as well as building there own lines on mostly abondoned lines. ------------------ Theres no such thing as having to many coal hoppers or GP40-2 when you model Chessie System LONG LIVE THE KITTEN!!! LONG LIVE BIG BLUE!!!
I find my modeling interests are the same as my prototype interests. I model various western railroads from the 1970's-1980. Primarily I am a Santa Fe modeler, however I do like the Western Pacific and the Missouri Pacific. I find that I am also painting some models for BN and Rock Island. I have a layout well under way in an old contractors office trailer 8x16 size. The layout is along the walls and multi layered. Whew! There I said it!
