Purchased a 2% riser kit the other day to fool around with but found it finicky to shape-set-then move using pins. I cut wedges from styrofoam and used them to hold my desired shape without have to fix them to the foam board. Not sure if this has been done but in case it hasn’t I thought I’d share.
Excellent idea! I had similar issues the first time I tried the risers as well. Forgive me but have to say it, I like the way Peanut Butter JAMmed the wedges in to maintain the curve. I TOAST your creativeness.
Great idea to use the wedgies. My son put me on to these parts- really great idea from Woodland Scenics. I used window caulk to adhere the pieces to the layout board with long nails to hold positions. Easy to cut and piece even complex changes in height.
Hi to all Here is a picture of my layout in early stages using the Woodland Scenics flex stuff. As I said above, I stuck it down with cheap caulk, using long nails to position, then pulled the nails after it set. Easy to shift or fix, just carve with a box cutter or hacksaw blade.
