    Hi folks!

So, I'm taking the plunge, and using Woodland Scenics "SubTerrain" system for our new layout. (I'm not good with wood..heh..so this is great!)

Has anyone used this system? Any tips or problems or anything?

Any input would be appreciated! [IMG]

I'm in the process of building a 4x8 HO railroad with the WS Subterrain styrofoam. So far, it's working pretty well. You have to be careful about the grade transition at the top of a hill, however. It tends to be a bit abrupt. Some smoothing with a Surrform tool should do the job.

Also, the Subterrrain manual suggests covering the subroadbed with a layer of Plaster Cloth. I recommend laying the pieces of cloth lengthwise, along the top of the subroadbed, with only a little hanging off the sides. You'll be burying the sides with plaster or Sculptamold, anyway. I had a problem with the subroadbed surface not being smooth enough for the roadbed strips, and thus my track being a bit bumpy.

    Good Luck!
