A couple shots at the Minot Amtrak station... A Catfish leads a grain train in a snow squall on 3 March: The DPU shoves hard on the rear under the signal bridge:
From July 1978 at Princeton Jct., NJ is Conrail tonnage moving behind E-44s. I was on the wrong side of the tracks for the best lighting, but these were the only E-44s I ever saw. The 4459 was built 05/1963, one of 66 delivered to the PRR. The E-44s met their demise in 1981 when CR ended use of electrics on freight trains. I think those single-arm Faiveley pantographs are neat. Each unit had two. You can see the other lowered, adjacent to its mate.
A few shots from last Thursday in New Braunfels, Texas. Always expect a train. Landa Park Train tracks. Trying to cross the UP just south of town.
