So when does the pool start to guess the date that we get to the 500th page on this thread? We could have a prize for the closest guess. How about a Genuine Authentic Vintage High-Speed Reader's Digest Southern Pacific Diesel? (ducking)
As a dummy engine, with much broken off, maybe a couple of bucks from the bargain basement parts bin, under the sellers table at a swap meet.
Hey, don't give bargain basements under tables a bad name... We did that at the couple of shows we did selling off Dad's HO. The kids loved the selection at $3 or less per car. Also, I decided that I didn't know how to count when a really young modeler wanted to buy six cars and only had money for four...
Since this looks like a pretty complex calculation I'm going to use Elon Musk's methods of calculating timelines for when it will be completed (reach the 500th page) ........... so put me down for April 5th 2022 !! LOL , all joking aside that Starship was amazing !!
I don't know, I didn't think Starship was ever the same after Grace Slick left. But the singer that Mickey Thomas recruited-- a young woman named Stephanie Calvert-- is really excellent and does a great rendition of "White Rabbit." But that's Jefferson Airplane, not Starship. So, how's that for thread drift!
Here's a fantastic deal - coal hopper, only $85! $95 with shipping... https://www.ebay.com/itm/256069496459
That's for a 4 PK, but you'd never know looking at what's below. A potential buyer has to click on it to learn more. Given the high prices we usually feature here, I'd assume as you did.
The number of spaces allowed by eBay in the item title caused the problem of it showed "4 Pack A", it is all there. If the lister edited the title to "4-Pack A", I think that would be on the second line and clearly four cars.
The price of this Kato Locomotive frame and motor what would ebay seller be asking for He included the Kato locomotive shell? Especially this sentence in his description of the Item "first i know nothing about trains so if it doesnt look right ask these i am listing were bought in an estate auction box 88" https://www.ebay.com/itm/1153053029...gtftBviUXCYqkcp/9C27ty8gU=|tkp:Bk9SR6aXx4-IYg
Long ago I tired of seeing listers using the "I know nothing..." excuse to cover their attempts at seeming to be innocent. A forthright seller would spend a few moments and research their potential market. If this one did, they deliberately chose to ignore what they learned. Perhaps the reason for such a price might be that they actually do not want to sell their item. Otherwise, the only possibility is they blew it, when shopping at the alleged "estate sale". Now they are floundering around, desperately trying to recover from their mistake. Anyhow, sucker fishing does constantly provide us with a good laugh!
Editing an eBay title can be quite dysfunctional to say the least no matter where you place the cursor and click backspace or delete. Usually you have to delete everything and start each section over. Sometimes its operator error too.......... Years ago I accidentally bought a lot of Life Like PB1 dummies. The eBay listing was titled "Life Like Undecorated PB1 dummy for N scale" ....... "for N scale" ???? ...... ahhhh , could've just said "N scale", oh well, what ever. So I saw the listing had a quantity box and I changed it from "1" to "4". Purchased and paid ....... oh goodie I'll have 4 PB1's ! Weeks later the postman brought a box and I thought the seller was a bit over the top with the packaging until I opened it and I was looking at 16 PB1's !!
This poor little tower caught my eye, crushed, forlorn and looking for a home. I'm afraid its days have come to an end, even at $4.40 plus Shipping.
Found this eBay prize, N Scale Illinois Central Burned Out Shell Charcoal Fire Damaged Distressed Piece.at $19.95 plus Shipping. Not surprisingly, it's been posted for four months now. Also available from the same "Seller" are rail joiners for $19.99 plus Shipping.
Well, they might get an award for creative recycling. But this is the stuff that makes a trash bin burp.
Here I had thought that seventy five bananas for a plastic frame powered A/dummy B LL FA-2 set was bad..........plus almost ten bananas for shipping....... https://www.ebay.com/itm/256100769230?_trkparms=amclksrc=ITM&aid=1110006&algo=HOMESPLICE.SIM&ao=1&asc=250316&meid=b6d3d55d65764c92805351daba729a03&pid=101195&rk=4&rkt=12&sd=235045146337&itm=256100769230&pmt=1&noa=0&pg=2047675&algv=SimplAMLv11WebTrimmedV3MskuWithGreedyAllKnnRecallsAndCassiniVisualRankerWithIsoCalib&brand=Life-Like&_trksid=p2047675.c101195.m1851&amdata=cksum:256100769230b6d3d55d65764c92805351daba729a03|enc:AQAIAAABMK6rTUJOntHw7vMLLLDbL6p8zeUP6C4XOeyNchQZF8EXO%2BRfxbshaufWAglNaihumbrJ6dF0yHaS5lUPSbUjY0%2BZSjmwE7AFeiluMty99ChbVfmBnTVRkNNjjlMqikWP5PWKALTh%2BIpvhdiG5NiufMDDaHytteGFi6Eo%2FYsaTS44f28FMojpYmlEHyfN9lLZOsp7THnalFf8Odg0pAUFT7EJ%2B8zT%2BU0yOyeU7JwNu1vf7lY2d3XNhiRveTUQNt%2FK3N6re99A54mimP59mAgTopZYTvxnWTsWOmQIVa%2BCQtWGpZDS6c593Un5sxytxwXrKodwUPpAAY1pgdIdGu%2BndZcm8r0OhFVG%2B5dLrHicVoGNHe66z1XcQ6RoK3D6PhS88hl6iHXNaMCpPbov%2F8Cp7eU%3D|ampidL_CLK|clp:2047675
