Sure looks like it, but it's the Massachusetts Central. A photographer I follow (Dave Blaze) shared this image: https://flic.kr/p/2nT8nFw
Adobe needs to add a Graffiti Eliminator function to Photoshop for those of us who fail to see artistry on BNSF 477433. That beautiful GN logo is plenty enough for me.
Two things that are going to kill it for me here. 1) Old Pics with no dates. Give time and dates, if you don't, they don't mean anything. I can't raise the dead guy to find out the year he took the photo. 2) Videos? I came here for Pics, not videos. Thats what YouTube is for.
From a gray day in April 1980 at Melrose Park, IL, a very tired BAR 6102. I thought these existed only on model railroads. Fun Fact: The New Haven also owned cars like these.
I always try to include the date and photographer. If I took the photo, I sometimes feel that is understood and just give the date if I can find it. However, sometime none of that is available but I still feel the subject is too good to not share.
I do exactly the same, location and date if I know it. 95% of what I post are my pictures, and like you, I think that's understood. I know the details because I labeled the slides when I got them back from the processor and that information is included in my file names. My black and white images are from negatives. I know the locations, but detail regarding dates is sometimes sketchy with them, though I can estimate pretty closely. I agree with @logodave . A rail photo lacking any sort of historical backdrop is just a pretty train picture and lacks dimension.
I had that impression, and one of those box cars too. I suppose the tired model is only available to the 1:1 scale folks. It could be worse. They could have misspelled "of".
