Waiting for a Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 to arrive from California to Arkansas via South Carolina and then Connecticut...
Great purchases guys! My latest purchase was a couple of days ago. I bought 2 MT rollerbearing trucks and couplers to upgrade 2 more cars. Not exciting but I prefer MT.
Not directly train related, but I purchased new screws/nuts/washers to assemble the day bed frame that will accompany my layout/guest/office room in the new house. The originals were lost in the move, at least until I bought these and then found the originals! Setting up the day bed and clearing a few more boxes are pre-requisites for starting work again on my layout.
This one and two others. Well, that's actually the "dummy" plug as I didn't think to take the pic until after I did the swap
Nah, that's a DC-only decoder! Don't believe me? Just take it out, and see how well the loco runs on DC!
Sweet looking locomotive, Deacon. The Troop Sleeper is pretty cool too. Two very attractive cabooses. The UP has a lot of great and varied equipment. You can run one railroad but have a lot of variety.
Some Gold Medal Models chain link fence to go around the propane dealer I am installing on my layout.
It is fairly easy. I've worked with a bunch of it over the years with great results. There are small holes along the edge of the frame that is used as a drilling guide. Also, it's not necessary to get every post into a hole. On the current project I am securing the fence with Canopy glue for the first time and am getting the best results yet.
Just finished DCC conversion on an Atlas Dash8-40BW. I modified the frame a bit in the rear, filed the front metal corner, and removed the blackout piece. I cut part of the light pipes to add clearance. I added an OWS 9x16 speaker with a custom cabinet in the rear, put an ESU 58923 decoder in the front and used 0402 white LEDs with 2.2kOhm SMD resistors for the lights. Added the ESU 772 sound file.
Got these to make up a 3 car consist. Don't know if they will stay CP or get relettered, but man they are just SO cute...
MK- Thank you again, and here is some info received from my inquiry to US Customs regarding possible charges for my purchase from Japan... "In most cases, personal-use imports through the mail worth up to $800 and gift packages worth up to $100 may enter the United States duty-free, if the person receiving the package does not have multiple packages processed by CBP in a single day."
That's the same $800 they use if you are coming back to the US via airplane. I was guessing it's the same. Thanks for the confirmation. Time to order more stuff from Japan.
Yup, I sure did! And they are not just cute, they are adorable according to the Lady of the House! Nyah!
