Here are a couple of pictures of my spine cars on a customer's layout. (Jim Reising) ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery Alan's European Gallery Alan's British Steam Gallery
The spine car units are looking great. Just to let you know Alan I'm still having fun ! Have not had that much time to be in the shop, but I am far enough along on the kit that I setup all the units for trailers. Now have 5 MTL BN trailers to use when I finish. Do enjoy the assembly and am now in the process of looking for a new compressor for the airbrush. P.S. I do feel there is a least another spine car set and some of those new flat cars in my future . ------------------ Residing in BNSF's St. Croix Subdivision near Trempealeau, WI [This message has been edited by Patrick (edited 24 July 2000).]
Alan, is this a limit run thing, or do you intend to keep producing the cars? I like them, but a few days ago I blew my RR budget on Walthers double stacks cars Happy Railroading!! Dane, if you look on my website home page, ther is a comment that says Please note that none of my products are limited runs and never will be! (I hate limited runs!!!) ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery Alan's European Gallery Alan's British Steam Gallery
Alan, I have to say those pictures are superb. Does jim have a website? BTW what manufacturers are there for roadrailers to go on your spine cars? ------------------ http://users.bigpond.net.au/railroad2000
All I can say is SWEET Alan!!!!!! I gotta get my order in soon (for the spine cars and the flat cars!!!). Another thing, I think I speak for all of us when I say THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO WHAT WE WANT AND HOW WE WANT IT! You hate limited runs (like AAAALLLLLLLLL of us), your pirces are low, your very friendly to deal with.......I can go on and on, but again, thanks for being all around GREAT!!! ------------------ Craig Martyn BLMA(Best Looking Models Around) Custom painting and detailing AND N scale detail parts. Paul, I already ICQ'd you the url of Jim's photo page, but post it here in case any others would like to see more. I am sure he has another site with a description of his large layout. Will ask him. My spine cars will carry any make of trailers, as far as I am aware http://hometown.aol.com/jereising/index.htm Craig, thank you for the comments - much appreciated You are also doing your bit for us N-Scalers ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery Alan's European Gallery Alan's British Steam Gallery [This message has been edited by Alan (edited 25 July 2000).]
Well guys,Alan will get at least one more order from me.It seems while rearanging things in the trainroom I unknowingly knocked one of the cars on the floor(The model railroad gods did give me a slight break though)At least it was the one without the MT trucks installed. The car is now total JUNK!! Oh well I'm still havin'FUN!! ------------------ Catt!#118
How well do Alans spine cars really perform. i have hacked some secret test pictures and found the real story. It seems some very serious derailments have occurred causing injury to operators. If you think i am joking have a look at this picture, UP claim the derailment cost well millions hehehehe ------------------ http://users.bigpond.net.au/railroad2000
Sorry Paul, but they are NOT my cars! They look like the old Con-Cor ones. Way too light, cannot even stand the impact of a few locomotives hehehehehe ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery Alan's European Gallery Alan's British Steam Gallery

quote:
Originally posted by Alan: Sorry Paul, but they are NOT my cars!

Can you explain this? Hmmm?? You know who...
It looks like a UP crew is going to have someone say to them, "U.P. into this cup, please!" Defineatly "OPERATOR ERROR!" at work here. ------------------ BNSF RAILFAN-TO-THE-MAX! Brent Tidaback, Member #234 and a N-Scaler to boot!
Very clever, Gary Matt thinks you must have too much time on your hands My wife and I really enjoyed that!! ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery Alan's European Gallery Alan's British Steam Gallery
Thanks, Alan. It was a quick job... no more than 30 mins for the cut, resize and paste, then a little touch-up... Glad both you and your wife liked it. Gary.
I sent the link to Jim Reising - he loved it He also said thanks for the exposure! ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery Alan's European Gallery Alan's British Steam Gallery
