I received an Arnold turntable several years ago and am about ready to install it. I know I need to purchase some more of the, well for lack of a better word, "pit tracks" for it, but there are no instructions with the turntable. Any help or pointers for installation will be appreciated.

P.S. To give you an idea how long ago this was purchased, the price sticker on the box is $47.00.

Hello poozink, welcome to Trainboard [IMG] I have no personal experience of the turntable, but you can bet that someone here does :D

Hope you get the information you need. When you have time, tell us about your layout, era, etc. [IMG]

Poozinsc, if I recall, allied is buying the Arnold turntable and pit, so you may be able to order the instruction sheet from them.

If the Stall Tracks are made with a molded on key stone section on one end, then they are probably the saame. You are to snap out one of the filler sections on the pit flange, and replace it by snapping in one of the little stall track sections.

Even if you can't find the factory stall track section, turn the table to the location you need a stall track and lock it in place. Then you can remove the neccessary number of ties from a regular track section, and glue the two bare rails to any cover section on the flange, by slipping a rail joiner onto both the table rail heads, upside down. Slip half the joiners out over the stall rail heads, for alignment. When the glue dries, slip the rail joiners off the end of the stall rails. Turn the joiners over and slip them onto the bottom of the stall rails and insert additional track sections to get the required length. File a little bit of the sharp edge off the inside of the stall track rail heads so the wheel flanges don't catch and ride up over the top and derail. It should look like the end of the table tracks. You can slip a section of a credit card between the table rail and the new stall track to allow clearence for rotating.

I see that Watash has already given you a really good tip but if you still require the genuine Arnold connecting tracks they are listed as Art.No.6383 in their catalogue. They are supplied in sets of 3.
    Best wishes,
    John

Thanks for the prompt responses. I appreciate the tips and advice. I had posted questions on some other forums and hadn't received any replies.

I've "monitored" this forum for some time now off and on and have been impressed with the civility of it. Too many of the others are simply nasty or impatient with newcomer's questions.

    Thanks again,

    Chris

Well, you have the info on stall tracks but I also noted that you mentioned you don't have instructions, this may have just been in reference to the stall tracks but if you are lacking the instructions I will be happy to scan and email them or copy and send by snail mail.

Nice to see another N scaler in SC, Spartanburg here! :D
