    Hey There!

    You've outdone yourself!

Your model captures CSX's maintanence of its locomotive fleet to a tee!

    Bravo!

    That's prototypical modelling!

Looks like one Norfolk Southern left the plastic baggies in too long! [IMG]

    Hey Captain!

As a former CSX conductor, I can testify with all authority....THEIR ENGINES LOOK THAT BAD!

THAT'S NOT OVERWEATHERED....THAT'S AS REALISTIC AS IT GETS!

Their new AC's and EMD's may be clean, but if you look at the rest of the fleet...WOW!

CSX should be ashamed of themselves. Railroads used to take pride in their engines and crummies. They were the image of the railroad!

Who ever did that unit up, hit the nail right on the head!

The worst CSX loco I've ver seen in CSX paint was CSX #8051 (sd40-2) before it got the yellow, ble, gray scheme I was rilfanning in cumberland and it was rolling in the shops with GP40-2 #6358, #8051 had graffitti all over the nose and the side, ILast I saw it ha some dirt on it and coal dust.

    Pat,
Great photo! I can attest to thew fact that a lot of CSX power became mighty ratty before it was disposed of or repainted. That is what made it such a treat for me to railfan the CSX! [IMG] In the early 90's, we'd have all sorts of paint schemes, weathering, etc. on the locos that came thru town.

I remember the last freight train that ever passed thorugh my town on July 13, 1993 before CSX's new management took up the tracks between cowen abd north beckley yard. anyway, it had bout 135 cars the first 25 or so were 60' bulkhead flats with corrogated pipes, then cam assorted RBoxcars and gondolas, then the last 50 or so were coal cars. the first engine was a Chessie GP40-2, then 2 SD40-2 still in Chessie then 1 B&O GP40 and then a CSX painted SD50 (blue/gray) the SD60 was #8707 the GP40-2 was renumbered 6021 and one SD40-2 was #8039 for get the rest though, the train seemed to be 7 miled long, (it wa goiing about 25) but it was only had about 135 cars. Now all there is are 70-80 car coaltrains, occasionally 2 or 3 boxcars or a 4 engine helper set fro burnsville to grafton.,
