I was hoping someone could point me to a good side shot of a BN E-unit with the green nose and stainless steel sides. Also what color was the rear end of the E-units? And does anyone make a decal of the Hockey stripe in N? Thanks, Kevin
How did I miss that? I always check the BN photo archives! Thank you, I am doing a E-9 but they should be pretty simaler. KEvin
http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=192529 Appears the rear end of "hockey stick" units was black. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=169090 The second unit appears to be a silver E8 with green cab; the back is green! http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=2149 And another shot of that E7.
BN E Units Following the BN Merger many of the E units were painted in BN paint The 9920 was the only E7 painted in BN paint. There were some E8/9's painted green with the "Hockey Stick" which had steel sides There were others with stainless steel sides which had just the nose/cab area painted. There was the green with white stripes and some had aluminum paint with black & white stripes with either green or black lettering on the sides. The E's rebuilt for commuter service had orange & white stripes on the nose and the "Hockey Stick" on the sides. The photos are from the net
9941! Seen it in the BN passenger trains in color book that I have and have been looking for a CBQ E8 to paint the nose green on!!! The book also shows many ex Q E's with BN in black on the sides.
