Got a lot of tracklaying and wiring done in recent days. Will show more pictures shortly. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy SII using Tapatalk 2
Some views of the station area. All track is laid in this area except for siding to serve the goods shed and an industry (not yet decided on type of facility). Pictures show that the station building was built to be at the back of the original layout and will now have the other half added to make a complete building. Should soon be tidying up track joins, etc. then starting on scenery and ballasting.
Only diesel locomotives are used until I get the catenary erected, then I can introduce my electric locomotives to the layout, including two recently acquired which have not yet had a run.
It is all wired although I have not yet connected my Powercab, just been testing with new locos which are not yet fitted with decoders. Will try some dcc ones later today. It can be switched to dc or dcc as I like to test new locos before fitting decoder. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Just ordered a few more bits from England. Short on rail joiners, also ordered three inspection pits sections for engine shed and electric loco sidings. Saved making my own! Didn't know they made these and came across them on Hattons website whilst ordering joiners!
Did a bit more work on the layout today. Finalised the staging yard ready for painting and ballasting tracks. Moved the goods shed to the left, extended the siding to make access to the loading dock easier for trucks. Laid cork base ready for a loop along the back wall to improve operation and create a passing place for trains entering and leaving the staging yard. Cork base also laid around the turntable and loco shed, but awaiting arrival of between rails inspection pits.
Neglected it a bit, but now have supplies, so will have time tomorrow laying a loop track along the back, also fitting some between the rails inspection pits on the electric locomotive tracks, also in the locomotive shed. Hopefully photos tomorrow to show the progress.
Er, no. Gardening instead....! Should get a bit of railfanning is soon as som Matthew and family are over in a week's time.
it's nice to see you working. Hope that you weren't using words like I was last week trying to get track spiked down in a yard.
Fitting the inspection pits into the baseboard. These Peco products are first class, as is their turntable.
