I have read on the Virginia Transportation Museum's Facebook page that the C&O Greenbrier, Class J3a #614 will be on display at the museum from Feb, 12 to April 30th. Link: Incompatible Browser | Facebook I remember when I was 12 when I saw the Chessie Steam Special with the 614 come into Meyersdale, PA on July 11th, 1981 and it still holds a place in my memory today. Here's some pics of the original handout that was given to the passengers on the train. One of the people who worked on the train gave it to me and I still have it.
Yes, 614 has been transported to Roanoke. Once she has all her jewelry back on and the rods installed, there will be an awesome display of 614, 611 and 1218 at the museum. :tb-biggrin:
