Hi all! My good friend 3D printed my own designed Arch bar trucks. He has a Anycubic Photon, and these are printed with the new waterbased resin.
Very nice looking truck. I purchased the Anycubic printer earlier in the year and have unfortunately not had a chance to set it up and try it yet. I am, however excited about its capabilities. Did you find any difficulty in spreading the frames to install the axles or was the material flexible enough?
I had to ream out the holes and file a little notch on the underside to make the install of the wheelsets without problem. They flex really little, but we're going to add some softening agent in the next batch.
Please keep us posted on this project. It would be a huge plus to be able to produce unusual or unavailable trucks from all eras.
Looks great, Graff! For you guys interested in this printer and what it can do, don't hesitate to reach out to the community here and ask. We've got a couple modellers that have been using it for awhile now and can answer questions. I've got two of 'em and have been printing with Photons for over a year - it just doesn't get old what amazing things it can do! The only major bummer I find is that you're limited to printing small-ish items, but really most of the stuff we do anyway falls in that category. There are other downsides but those types of details would be best served in another thread. Cheers -Mike
