    Thanks mmi16. (y)

I just wanted to mention the fantastic footage of the beautiful neighboring southern Indiana. The line runs just a couple of miles past where I grew up in Cincinnati.

Hired out on the B&O out of Washington, IN in 1965. Worked various Operator and Agent/Operator positions from 8th Street Switchtender in Cincinnati to HN Cabin in E.St.Louis. The line now is a far cry from when it was running through trains such as the Northeasterner, Southwesterner. New Yorker, St. Louisan, Manhattan & St.Louis Trailer Jets.

Remember working North Vernon on 3rd trick. All trains had to make a Statutory Stop account the non-interlocked railroad crossing with the NYC branch at grade. New Yorker with 'big' power and 100 or so cars would start their train from a stop and hooping up Train Orders to the head end was a breeze; however, handing up to the rear end was a real challenge. Eastbound was slightly down grade from the diamond and the power would be notched up to the 8th notch once the power cleared the diamond. With the train pounding over the crossing at an increasing speed a lot of dust was created and with train dynamics blown toward the operator trying to sight the caboose markers so he could move closer to the train to hand up the Conductors set of Train Orders and Form A
