Thank for the nice words and comments. One of the last cars for my derrick train is this track panel car, the RGAX 3317. It started out as a couple 40' cars that got welded together according to a historical site in the early 1950's and has seen different kinds of MW service until recently where is was matched with a D&RGW 125 ton crane that sits in Grandby CO on a house track awaiting to be taken to the Moffat county RR museum, the current paint has been back dated to reflect it's earlier D&RGW heritage. My Model is a bit later in its career as a panel car for the 028 work train in GJ 1995-1998ish. This car started out as a 40' boxar as well but I used my modelers license to create the rest out styrene and brass wire. it is just under 60' long cut 2' off the boxcars height and cut the opening then glued some .040 sheet styrene to make the wall, glued some channel into the storage room and put spike cans from Tichy and angle bars from Details West. The panels are Micro engineering, made the decals up, what little there are of them. Kinda pained me to put them on crooked and spaced like the prototype. I then used scale 4x4x10 in the stake pockets with one broken just like the image shows, then drafting tape was wrapped around the timbers at the top of the panels, then chains were attached, made the boomer chain tie downs out of brass wire and attached them. My image of the prototype in GJ circa 1996. my version. Thanks for looking
