I am building a layout and have a temporary set up with Digtrax components in a box below my layout. Operation is fine for a temporary setup.Need help on how to arrange these permanently on a panel or something. The Super Empire Builder parts are...PS 12....PS 515....PM 42.....UP 5.. The UP 5 is the only one with a face plate. Any suggestions?

Hi Gat, I have the NCE but like you I was not sure where to put the DCC stuff. I ended up screwing the boxes up underneath the layout out of the way. Here is a couple pictures:

The black box is the NCE controller and you can see the transformer for power.

The box at the lower left is a line conditioner/fuse/power switch assembly.

Many people like to have their boxes in a more accessable location, but I have not needed to access mine for 3 years so far. [IMG]

Thank you for your prompt and detailed reply.
I am confused. My parts do not resemble anything in you photos. What is a DEC ?
The parts I`ve listed do not have edges that allow screwing or bolting to anything. What am I missing here.? I will get a friends Digicam and send some pics of the patrts.

My system is different, but the funcionality is the same. I think what I was trying to demonstrate is you can hide all the things you don't need to mess with by mounting them out of the way, and just leave a panel to connect the hand held unit on the facia of your layout. [IMG]

Here is a picture that shows the panel I have on my facia board:

The little white panel on the lower left of the picture is where I can plug in my handheld controller. I have another panel like this at the other end of my layout.

    I hope this helps... ;)

Our club uses similar Digitrax components for our NTrak layout (all portable). We have the main components mounted on a small piece of plywood (approx. 2'x2') and place it in a convenient place inside the layout. Obviously, the UP5 needs to go on the layout.
