Unfortunately I am renting and don't have that option. Last house I was in the basement and it didn't matter what I got on the floor.
Grande Gold and decals finished..*whew!* Micro Kristal Kleer windows and black 'rubber' window seals.. Finally FINISHED!!! Pics tomorrow, if I remember...
The color is not a orange as my monitor makes it out to be--this is a preproduction model--the production ones (whenever the project gets restarted) will have shorter cupolas, and the build will be differnt. Overall, this is what they'll look like.
That is a beautiful model however you shouldnt have posted pics because I think you are going to get a lot of people wanting to buy kits.
Question on technique - how'd you do the gasket for the windows? Great model. I'd vote for offering a complete kit, to go back to a much earlier question.
A used superfine microbrush, with the fuzzy end clipped off (toothpics also work), black paint, and VERY careful application along the insides of the window openings. Yes indeed. This is the one, that even though it still needs some refinement, I finished anyways. The rivet counter types that furnished all the feedback on this one would like to see a totally correct model, but for me, this is close enough as a stand-in till the refined kits are perfected. Now I want one in Z!! I know you do too!
Mike, Thanks--it's no hard, if you have technical drawings of the Alaska caboose, maybe you could ask Pray59 to cut some sides for you? It means a lot coming from a master caboose builder; thanks, Tony!
