Great sleuthing getting these pictures of the Model Power Pacific. It looks good and has a nice presentation case! I hope it will run as good as the Bachmann 2-8-0, but I wish Model Power had cast it in plastic instead of metal. Metal is going to be pretty difficult to kitbash. For my road I'll need to shorten up the draw bar and put a winter cab on it. Cutting the cab off is going to be a challenge.
There's supposed to be an NMRA DCC plug in the tender. I figure I'll use the Dremel and some Bondo for my kitbashing projects, which should work ok. About 12 years ago a friend used these materials to modify some Arnold S2's (another metal model) to make slugs and other switchers. I have had 3 on order since I heard about this release, and have been waiting for Pacific's to be released for years.
Nice job on the photos Robert According to the MP spec sheet found here it is set up for a Digitrax DN-121 decoder ======= http://groups.yahoo.com/group/n_scale/files/pacific_tech.pdf ======= Here are a couple more links from the MP website: ======= http://www.modelpower.com/MPimages/new_6_02/loco.jpg === http://www.modelpower.com/model_power_news.htm#0640 ======= eNjoy [ 22 June 2002, 23:01: Message edited by: dbn160 ]
Good find on that spec sheet Don, the photos on it are better than posted on MP's site. I am JAZZED! let's see... an NP Q6 Class? or 2 or 3? The spec sheet is kind of a long download, but it is a must see for anybody interested in this model.
