There are some great films on youtube for us B&M fans. I found one the other day shoot in 1978 just north of where I'm modeling. Nice to know the Yankee is getting a full restore. It has been slow going, but they have saved an important piece of history. Both my favorite RR's had these, B&M with the Flying Yankee, and CB&Q with the Zephyr. Man I was born way too late.

Jim, I was extremely fortunate to ride on #6000 in October, 1952. She was called The Minute Man at that time, assigned to the Fitchburg Division, and running between North Station and Troy, NY. As I remember, the ride was very smooth, especially the starts, not herky-jerky like the usual starts with steam power. Also I believe her low center of gravity made for a smoother ride at speed.
