So these are the newest GEVOs...the ES44ACH:

Supposedly they went into production a year ago and are 4500 HP. CSX has a few, as seen in the video. Does anyone know more about them?

I don't know a whole lot more than several of CSX's older AC's are are classified as "CW44ACH" indicting that they are built with extra weight to meet higher tractive effort standard to meet CSX's order specifications. They tend to stay in mountain districts (i.e. Mountain Sub... Shortline Sub... A&O/Cowen Sub, etc...). I read elsewhere that the CW44ACH's weigh 20,000 lbs more then a normal CW44AC. I am not sure if these type of units are exclusive to CSX.

CSX GE AC's numbered 1-499 are straight AC's - GE AC's numbered 500 and above are all AH's. The AC numbering schemes are 1-999. 3000-3199, 5000-5199. The vast preponderance of CSX AC's are Heavy's. No similar modifications have been performed on the EMD ACE's

In addition to the added weight I believe the Heavy designation engines also have different software running the locomotive than the straight AC's. I don't know what the specific differences are.

As far as I know they are NOT 4500hp. Just have extra ballast.
