Well i'm not a total novice airbrusher, i've never done the BN nose stripes! What's the best way? Or does Microscale make stripes for this?

    any help appreciated

Are you sure it isn't this one?
87-364 Stripes Burlington Northern (BN) - Diesel Nose Stripes - White

    Thanks either way though!

Hey tunnel88, why don't you just do like the CEO of BLMA does? I understand he hires a little N size painter to put the stripes on for him! That's why he has "The Best Looking Models Around"! [IMG]

I'm on a tight budget so i can't hire a painter, no matter how little he is! [IMG]

when you decide to paint the engine and use microscale decals.the sheet of decals usually has the nose stripes on it.but as the others have posted you can get them seperate also.you also need to watch the the bn engine being painted has stripes and not the bn on the front.from what i can tell the white face cabs usually have the bn on the front.

Um, yah. I made an error on the first one should be 87-364. Also, the CEO of "Best Looking Models Around" paints his own locomotives, and does a VERY good job at it! But if he did hire a little painter, I would like to get his Email adress!!!!!!!!

Dash don't worry about it! [IMG]

Ed, there is one C30-7 that isn't a whiteface and has a logo on the nose... can't remember the # though!

Basically i'm converting 2 P2K GP30s into present day 39s and i'm trying to avoid as much painting as possible. Unfortunately the noses are as delivered with the CBQ nose lights so i'm swapping noses... I haven't decided which #s they'll be by the way- [IMG]

You say you want to avoid as much painting as possible, well, you can try this:
    http://archive.trainpix.com/BN/EMDRBLD/GP39M/2883.HTM

BN 2883 is a GP39M, and it has a White Face. this may come out to be more painting than youd like, but its easier than traing the stripes!!!!! But, I do suggest the decals if you choose the other way!

I think the rebuild from the GP30 into the GP39M to make #2883 is more effort than painting is! [IMG]

I might do a whiteface, but than i'd have to take the cab off... i'll let everyone know what happens...

Hey guys, (what you bet he ends up stomping it flatter than a flitter?) Then he'll tell us it died! If you take the cab off, does that make it a convertible GP-30? (snicker)
