Thanks for the video. I had some understanding on how they work. I have helped operate a farm steam tractor.
But, I am over joyed we don't have such complexity in our fun machines.

 

lol but but . . IDK for me, "DCC", "N" & "Z" scales would rival a close second only in miniature?

 

This video underscores the incredible complexity of those wonderful machines.

(ps: In the 1st vid is it true? They say, early on, it would take "4 modern engines" (ie: diesel electrics?) to do the work that one Big Boy could do?)

 

There was one at the Ashwaubenon (Green Bay) museum. It took a long time to walk around it and the tender. We could even clime into the cab. WOW!!
