Summer weeks always seam to go faster than winter weeks. Here we are at the last weekend of July, and it's time to see what everyone wants to get done this weekend. My weekend is wide open. My club will be in Belleville Illinois all weekend for the train show down there. I didn't sign up as I have a work related show next weekend and would like one weekend in my own bed. Still, if the weather is nice, I may drop the top on Jess the Jeep and visit on one of the two days. The big refresh of my 6X3 layout is on hold until I can get both the cork road bed and Atlas code 55 track. Until then I'll keep working on my Maywood NJ T-Trak modules that I need to have finished by November for Milwaukee Trainfest. So how about you? What kind of structure kits must be assembled, or track must be laid? Scenery work, painting, carpentry, whatever you have planned let us know. We'll all come back here on Monday the 29th to see how we all did. Until then, happy Model Railroading, stay safe and... High Greens!
My club is putting on the train show in San Antonio this weekend. Full time of no modeling and just talking.
Plaster cloth and paint for me. If all goes according to plan, all of this will be covered and I will be done with hardshell work until my next layout!
My goal is to continue work from last weekend in the attic trainroom. There is over 60 lin feet of knee-wall in the attic left to be insulated. My goal is to get those studbays insulated. If the temperature holds out up there and I can spend more time, I plan on tracing wiring that is connected to original house panelboard and then seeing where I can disconnect it and re-circuit to the panel I put in the train room. Once it gets too hot up there, I will probably spend time at the work bench decaling. I also purchased some Westerfield peaked hopper ends I want to put on some C&O hoppers I built without the peaked ends. IF time permits, I may start pulling out some my engines that are stored away and start the process of tuning and tweaking in anticipation of my layout getting started sometime in the fall/early winter.
I'm going to finish my water tanks scene, add the bracing and water pipe and move on to more scenery.
Once the fair stuff is secured, I should have a little time for trains. I need to apply some ground cover in these spots. They have been plaster - clothed and texture painted. O wait, better paint the tracks first...
Here it is, I finally finished it. I added the pump housing, some cross braces, NBWs and some weathering. Thanks for checking it out.
