Welcome back everyone, I hope you all had a good and productive weekend. Let's see what everyone achieved.

Friday: As planned, I left work around 2:00. We had gotten a good amount of snow so rather than work in the layout room, I shoveled. This was the week my wife worked in office, so I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning up the driveway, walkways and dog area. She called in a pizza to pick up on the way home since the roads were still bad and didn't feel like going out, so we enjoyed our dinner and went to bed.

Saturday: I had planned to go to the hardware store right away, they open at 6:00am and I have the store to myself, and I can think. Unfortunately, I slept in, and it took a while for the coffee to do its job. I enjoyed the coffee in the workshop and compiled my list of items I needed to finish the wiring on the N scale layout. Finally, at 11:00am I was ready to go to the hardware store. Traffic was light but I was quickly reminded why I don't go shopping on Saturday afternoons. Fortunately, with my list, I found everything I needed including a nice set of wire strippers made in the USA! Once home I took on the task of installing more brackets and moving the N scale layout to another wall. Later, I took Ang out to one of our favorite haunts for a late Valentines dinner. Once home it was time for bed and day one of the weekend was over.

Sunday: I got up at 6:30, made coffee and we called my dad in NH to see how he was doing. The call was two hours long but that is typical as my dad doesn't get many visitors. I then turned my attention to the moving of layouts. The goal was to move the N scale layout on another wall and build the HO layout approximately where the N scale layout went. Well after an entire afternoon of moving things, I did not like the looks of it. My wife confirmed this, so I spent the rest of the afternoon putting everything back. So, while I likely got my exercise, I accomplished nothing. And like that the weekend was over.

So how about you? What did you accomplish this past weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday the 23rd to start the process all over again. Until then, have a good week, stay healthy and safe and as always...

    High Greens!

Good morning all, Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Weekend went as planned for a few things. Worked on installing Rix turnout indicators. Put one in on a dummy turnout at the workbench so I can get the hang of the things. Pretty tricky and time consuming, but that was my first attempt. Spent a lot of Saturday afternoon and Sunday putting in 300+ puff ball trees and positioning rock faces on the "Big" mountain. I call it "Big L" because it sits in a corner. Also got a tobacco barn in the mail that will build for my brother and his layout. His birthday is in late April and sometimes I'll get or build something for his layout. Also started a new, small water feature on the north side of the layout, essentially a small drainage ditch. That took some doing given my sub-bed is 5/8" underlayment plywood. But with drill bits, a Dremel tool and boring bits, and the shop-vac, got it done.

The drainage ditch was a result of what else... walking around the room early Saturday AM w/ coffee. Have a great week all.

Here are some shots of the mountain:

Doing a restart but I will be returning to N and only DC for now. The HO DCC will have to wait and see.

    Good mornin to Y'all!!

So - I had a wonderful weekend (No MRRing) -- the H12-44's will have to wait.

My dear Wife and Niece got me. Apparently, they had been conspiring since late November for this event. (My Niece lives in Austria).
I'll try to sum up the events of this past weekend -

Friday evening my Wife was supposed to go to our Daughter's house to watch our Granddaughter at a certain time. (Approx 5:00 PM). My Wife received a text - the timing had changed. To 7:30 PM. And - now my Wife asked me if I could join her. So, I went with her. Just as we were getting to the exit for our Daughter's house, my Wife tells me -- Honey - we are not going to Megan's house -- we need to go to LAX. WHAT - ? She also adds - it's the International terminal. So, - I ask - Who are we collecting at the Airport - ? My Wife tells me - I can't tell you!! OK - FINE. An already long story short - we get to LAX -- park -- walk over to the terminal -- and - there is my Niece and her Husband -- SURPRISE - HAPPY BIRTHDAY and RETIREMENT!! -- Needless to say - it was awesome.

Y'all have a spectacular week (I sure will)
    Wolf

Happy Monday! Wasn't a very productive weekend for me at all but I did get a few things going.
Friday evening afterwork, my knee was feeling better so I ventured to the workbench for a bit. Founds some parts to start a new load for a bulkhead flat and got started.
Saturday morning, I was back at it with coffee in hand. Got to a point where I realized I had made a mistake in my build and plus it was time to go back up and get to the plans for the day. As usual, it was a lot of hurry up and wait and the early lunch and late dinner turned into a combined late lunch, early dinner thing.
Sunday morning, was up early. Grabbed coffee, did my normal Sunday morning stuff and then headed back to the workbench. Made good progress on the new load build. Corrected the error and almost finished it even. I did some touch up paint on the fascia and worked on a couple of things to go with it but really didn't get anything done. By the time I hobbled back upstairs, my knee was hurting pretty bad so I spent the afternoon reading, surfing the web and watching TV.
Now it back to another week that let's hope passes fast. Hope you all have a great week.

    I managed to:
Friday: Did a little of this and I looked at the possibilities of moving the southern 4' table in 2' The table contains the yard and Black Mountain. This would allow room for a 'control panal' on the outside of the 'O'.
Saturday - I remember now. I did a little of that. I visually studied the idea from Friday and took pictures.
Sunday - I designed a possible bridge. I would share a pic but my internet connection is extremely slow.
    Have a great week everyone!

This was the weekend from Hell. On Friday afternoon at my urologist visit I found out that I have a hernia that most likely will require surgery. I need to talk to a general surgeon this week to see what the plan is. Overnight Saturday-Sunday my wife’s car was stolen out of front driveway. Talked to the police and opened a claim with our insurance company. Before that we were having a productive weekend as on Saturday we dropped off a return package at the UPS Store, stopped at the grocery, and dropped off another Amazon return at Kohl’s. We thought about going to Delaware to gas for my wife’s car but decided against it, so who ever stole it got a car with less than a quarter tank of gas.

Amazingly I did get work done on the Ambassador Hotel. I got all the windows finished. Assembled the ground and middle floors. I have about a third of the top floor assembled.

    Good morning everyone.

The wife's birthday crab lunch and my cardiologist appointment went well on Friday.

Tracked down the source of the wiring trouble on the DC bus and repaired it. Also finished the Ntrak wiring assemblies for my friend's modules. Then removed the bottom panel to the Carlin section and installed a couple of terminal blocks to the DC bus there for the lights that are installed and more planned.

Got the light at the propane dealer connected.

Went out Sunday to fill the truck up with gas and stopped by HD for another quart of gray enamel. Got the first coat on the only remaining area of fascia that had not been painted. Hope to do the second coat today.

Good morning from sunny and cold Northeast Ohio!

Had a nice weekend, worked on some decaling on a UP Auto Parts car, took the dog to the vet to check on the teeth that were pulled and they flushed her ears with something to keep them from itching. Bowling went about as bad as can be, almost bowled my average but not much luck in throwing strikes, left a plethora of 7 and 10 pins.

Saturday, had out club meeting and I test ran my Rapido RSC-14, found out I need another one if I want to haul any length of trains as the unit is extremely light. Later did some more decaling and we watched the season opener of "Death in Paradise".

Sunday, slept in late and started with the laundry, my son came over and we did his income tax returns for the Fed's and State, I will have to figure out his RITA tax later. Got most of the decaling done on the UP Auto Parts car and started on the DT&I RBL car. Was going to do a Buffalo Creek boxcar but was disappointed with the opaqueness of the decals. The manufacturer of the decals is going to send me a new set as he has a better machine now.

Tom, sorry you had such a crap weekend, hope the car gets recovered and you get well soon.

    Have a great week!

Trust me. It is always great to fine everything on your list. (y) Thanks to @Kitbash's leadership and inspiration I piddled er, experimented with making very small puff ball trees. Restart can be necessary and sometimes helpful. :) Surprise family visit = awesome! Late lunch early dinner sounds like a nutrition gap? Oooh. We love a new bridge. I hate it when prices move up. The Ambassador is looking mighty fine. I had a hernia repair when I was six. You are gonna' feel a lot better. Sorry about the car. I believe crime is increasing overall. Nscalestation is the new project tornado. ;) A decal machine! I had no idea! I am so primitive. I have done this and that over the weekend. :cautious: As I said above, some puff ball trees were attempted. I resolve to try to do more. I repaired the M&StL boxcar. (I found a retainer in the subsurface channel when I reworked the turnouts.) The Mogul got damaged somehow so that was another repair. I have finished putting track placement lines on the sublayer of the module. (y) Sunday, I went by the MRR club for a visit. Prolly' leaving sumpin' out. I plan to start laser cutting two structures this week. Have a good week. :D

In addition to futzing about with Train Master decals, I started a little light* weathering on some rolling stock:

@Tompm: Seven weeks removed from my hernia surgery and feeling good. Operating at about 90% of prior capacity mostly because Sharon keeps telling me to take it easy.

I knew we would be busy with other things this weekend and we were. Along the way we had breakfast with my son on Saturday, watched the season finale of "All Creatures Great and Small" on Sunday night and finished moving the last of our stuff into the new storage units. Sharon and I did sit down and register for the NSE Convention as my only modeling activity. Things should improve modeling wise in the coming weeks.

    Stay safe,

Saturday 2/17: There was a train show (Great Train Show, Ventura, CA) in my region but I just skipped it. I went there last year and it was cool but I'm mainly on an ESU Loksound installation trip lately so I doubt I'll find what I'm looking for there.

Sunday 2/18: Decided to resume the ESU Loksound installation into my Kato ALC-42 after frying the decoder. It as only 11 months old, and still under warranty, so the replacement decoder finally arrived last Monday.

Finally got it done last night!

I started my weekend early since I had work to do on Friday (which is my usual day off). So, Thursday I did homework, picked up a prescription for my wife, and not much else.

Friday, I went with the chairperson of our staff-parish committee to a conference in Pittsburgh that is held by a campus youth ministry group that we are hoping to work with at our local university. We checked the weather and since the winter weather advisory said that it was supposed to start snowing at 7:00 pm, we decided to get out of Dodge early. Unfortunately, it started snowing at 5:00 instead and our expected hour and a half trip home turned into a two and a half or three hour slippery ordeal. But, we got home safely so, it's all good.

Saturday, I did a little more homework, cleaned the cat box, took out the trash, and did a few other chores before taking my wife out for a late lunch. On the way we made a quick stop at the train club to pick up the old accounting ledger so that I could hole punch it and put it in a new binder. I must have done something with the rest of the day, but I really can't think of a single thing that got done.

Sunday, was church, then out to the Sebring Model Railroad Club where we did a lot of talking and a little track laying at the new port facility. Once again, in the evening, not much really got done.

    Monday,
being a holiday, sort of, I started some laundry, then I took my wife to Wooster for a doctor's appointment. I listened to a podcast for homework in the car, and did one reading assignment in the waiting room, and then we headed home. On the way, we stopped at the "bend and Dent" Amish grocery, and then our daughter's house to let their dogs out and to check the thread size of a second-hand crib that they bought without hardware. Our trip was delayed because of a major fatal accident that shut down the freeway just before we exited for our daughter's house. After that, it was already dinnertime, so we continued the detour and stopped at a restaurant that we like on the west side of Canton before heading home. At home, I finished my laundry, put away our groceries (including a rather large box full of candy for the train club), and watched television for the rest of the evening.

    Thus endeth the weekend.

Weather was cold, but I ducked outside to crank out a dozen more puffball trees. Now that I've done a few, my production speed has picked up a bit. The spray glue eventually makes gloves impossibly sticky, so enter the world's largest pair of tweezers as found in my late father's tools. I have no idea why he bought them, but at 10" long, they're great for holding the trees.

Didn’t post yesterday as I had the day off and was busy track planning. I’ve still got my original plan, but spent yesterday tinkering to see how a helix might fit and whether I should change how I accomplish continuous running

Not enough data for a decision

Good news. My daughter and I found my wife’s car. We gathered information from a post on the Ring App from a user whose Kia Sportage was also stolen. In my conversation with the person, I found out that just like in the case of my wife’s car the thieves left the previous car they had stolen. I was able to discover where the car they left was taken from. It was a big apartment complex about 2 miles from our house. After work yesterday my daughter and I drove through the complex and found the car parked on one of the streets. We called the police, and they had the car towed since it was undrivable. The ignition module was missing. Other than some scuff marks on the driver’s door there is no additional visible damage. They did take the EZ-Pass transponder, a cellphone holder and charger. My wife will go over to the police station later today and sign the release form so that the insurance company can tow the car to the repair shop. Her car was one of four cars (we know about) that were stolen overnight Saturday-Sunday.

Good to hear regarding your wife's car. Kia's are getting stolen a lot across the country. Still a pain but glad the car was recovered.
