Just wrote JnJ about GP60 series locos, specifically GP60M's, and asked if they ever planned on doing shells for them. JnJ promptly e-mailed back and stated they've received a lot of interest in these and plan on doing them this year! Sweeeet! Russ
What will they design the carbody to fit onto? Will they go for the cheaper and easier to acquire Atlas GP40 / 40-2, or the hard to Get Kato GP50? Personally, I hope the Atlas gets the nod as the GP40-2 is DCC ready, and I believe that should be part of their decision making process.
Russ, that is great news for us Santa Fe/BNSF fans! I think I will email them as well, to keep them on their toes
As far as GP60's, don't forget about Norfolk Southern! I think they roster 50 units (#7100 series?). Also, CSX has ended up three from LLPX; I think they are all still in their blue & white EMD demo colors. I would hope the shells are made for the Atlas GP40-2 chassis; like someone else said, DCC ready and currently available! Harold [ 04 April 2001: Message edited by: chessie ]
JnJ shells come unpainted, so dont concern yourself over what railroad had them and whatnot. But like all Jnj releases, expect it to be about 1/2 year late. Im still waiting for the 50 tonner, scheduled to be out a long time ago. Also, dont forget they will be in resin, not plastic. Mike
