Kato has announced a Just Plug Series that looks like a Japanese version of Woodland Scenics' Just Plug Lighting System. Except for the Japanese lettering, the packaging appears identical to Woodland Scenics Just Plug Lighting System packaging. Here is a link to the vehicle models on Kato's web site.

And, here is a link to the products on the Hobby Search's web site.

I am wondering if any of the vehicle models will be available without the lighting system?

Noticed that they're 1:150 Scale, from what I read, standard in Japan.

Looks like Woodland Scenics & Kato have joined forces for this one? I mean it mainly Japanese vehicles correct? And the Just Plug is still WS? Makes sense I guess.

    WS logo and Kato logo!

Yes, Hobby Search does describe the models as 1:150 scale. However, some of Kato's vehicles have been produced in 1:160 scale. And even those that are 1:150 scale can sometimes be placed next to 1:160 scale vehicles without appearing excessively large. This mostly works when the prototype vehicle was not imported into the U.S. And, the smaller prototype vehicle looks something like a larger prototype vehicle that can be seen in the U.S.

The comparison photo shown below has a mix of 1:160 and 1:150 scale vehicle models.

The second vehicle from the right (between the Busch Mercedes ML and Atlas Ford Taurus) is a Kato 1:150 scale Toyota Probox that can pass as a small 1:160 minivan.

Interesting find Carter! (y)(y)(y) A few look like good candidate for US layouts. Also agree that the 1:150 that Kato does sometimes looks just fine with 1:160 models. Wonder if Plaza Japan will carry them. Might have to start looking and give one a try at some point.
