I just now got back from a small train show in St. Pete FL. and Kato San Ceo of Kato-USA was there with a table set up showing off their latest in HO and N, of particular interest to N was the sample casting of the new 90MAC! Just the main body is made of five seperate castings the Cab, the Backend and the two Radiator housings all on the main hood! It is another 'count the fan blades' type of detail that has come to be exspected of Kato.
I'm getting the film developed tomorrow, hope the shot turns out!

I look forward to the photo (hopefully). Although I run BNSF, so I will not be buying any :( Should be an impressive model, though!

Please do the photos, I have three on hold at one store and two at another. Now when you realize that I just put on hold two CN dash 9's of Kato...Oh, I'm going to be so poor.

Hey Alan! Surely the UP owes your BNSF line some hours in the form of a 90MAC or two! :D

I got one on reserve, but they're goin' fast!

    You are a legend.

Your timely advice was well received and null

(This for RSN48! Could you email me with some information on where I could get my hands on some C44-9's in CN?)

I today acquired two KATO C44-9s in CN, they are like Rocking Horse Poop.

They will be displayed at the Brisbane Exhibition.

    Thankyou

    :D

The word "null" threw me there for a moment, it means something didn't work. So I phoned John at Pacific Scale Rail, and you did indeed purchase them. One of the ones you got (and by the way, I got) is un-numbered, the other one is numbered. If you need a number that is accurate, let me know; and again, tell me the area you are modelling and either I can get a proper number for you or Dave in CN forum will be able to get a number for you.

We have the Canadian Trackside guide here which is our "bible" and has everything CN is running listed, and it heritage and specs, and where the engine's divisional headquarters is. So if you need a suggestion for a number, let me know.

John had two numbered units and two unnumbered units, so when he made a set of two, he put one of each in each set.

Besides the SD's they did mention that they wish to reintroduce their GP38-2 and GP50 but that they would have to make new mechanisms for them, which I don't think anybody here would complain on that count. :D
