    Legos!!!

And I was beginning to wonder if 1) I am getting too old for these things 2) why do I have so much fun building bigger vehicles everytime my little brother gets a new set and 3) why do I buy these things?(right after new trains, of course!)

Thank you all, I have been reassured that this behavior is completely normal...as if any of us creators are normal by a far cry!!!

I once built a small steamer, many large trucks, semi's, buses, rvs, bomber aircraft...everything!

And if you want to get back your Lego set, there are always people selling them. Seems not every kid in the world enjoys creativity.

I have always wanted a real erector set, not one of those new flimsy plastic/coated ones.

I did have lincoln logs, still around for my G-Collection(more of an extension of dad, I am an HO person). Great stuff, but I never had quite enough logs, or logs long enough(mine were three notches in length max)

I will always envy all of those children that grew up with mountains of legos, pirates, castles, and people. I had a small collection that fit in a cookie can, and that's it!

Boy I miss those days...every since Tonka started putting bigger chuncks of plactic in their toys, life just hasn't been the same...and I am only 18!!!

Good night, I need to get some sleep!!!

Dad showed me how to make Lincoln Logs on the table saw and I made them for my cousin, all different sizes. He sold the saw when I was about 12 and went off to boarding school. You can make your own easy, just use the blade guard, and remail alert to watch your fingers. I guess today your momma would faint. HA! [IMG]

I don't think my mom would faint, and my dad would probably critique the craftsmanship of my logs into the dirt! Before they divorced, they were full time bee keepers. Hammers, nails, all of that came second nature. I could pound a nail in straight at the age of three!

My dad never had much of a shop that I could work on, so I never got any electric experience. The bandsaw never saw much use after the birth of little brother 5.

Mom now does all of her own carpentry, hard for even me to believe(well, almost) she says it was the one positive thing she learned with dad! Anyway, she has built some nice looking tables, cabinets, shelves.

I also remember those really nice tinkertoys.
nice stuff but I never had enough!
Then that company abandon the use of wood, Dag Nabbit!!!
