I've had a Life Like GP9 with factory installed sound for about six months now, I havent had any problems with it and it ran perfectly, and the sound is amazing.

But the dreaded reversing problem (see: http://tonystrains.com/technews/loconews/bli-qsisolution-032805.htm) with the QSI GP9's reared its ugly head today, I knew of this problem, but I never experianced it in the six/seven months I've used the GP9. So I never got around to fixing it by switching the CV's, here where it gets interesting: Tonight while running the geep I went to switch directions and *poof* it shorts, but doesnt come back up, and isn't responding to any commands, I ran address "03" to see if I lost my programing with the short and no response there, I take it too the program track and when I go to program it my throttle reads "Short detected" I did not go any longer with the programing in fear that I might damage the decoder. Also, manually setting it back to factory settings is a bust since it is not responding to the metal resetting wand.

    Any ideas what happened?
