The Augsburg & Concord Railroad is working on a rebuild program with the company's SD35's. Besides updating internal electrical and mechanical systems, the rebuilds will receive the installation of the wide nose cab, commonly referred to as the North American Safety Cab. There's still work to be done, fixing the fact that the cab end of the hood wants to creep up a little, as well as the back end of the cab. Jeff Augsburg & Concord R.R. She's looking a little sway-back in the first picture. Maybe she's getting a little old and needs to be put out to pasture.
Actually, as the picture clearly shows (isn't it WONDERFUL that pictures so clearly demonstrate our model's flaws?) is that the cab is rising up in the back, and the hood is rising up in the front. I think I will need to cement the cab to the shell. I may also need to cement the hood to the walkways. This could be tricky though, as the walkways need to flex a little to go on the chassis.
