I was thinking about it, and while not a big Alco fan, some C636s would look good i must admit...

Of course then Atlas would have to make a C40 as well... [IMG]

Umm, wt&c, the SD60M was recently produced by Atlas in N scale. The GP35 was done by them as well, but it is a little older. You can still find them on eBay on a regular basis (I picked up three undecs over the course of the fall).

As an N Scaler, I would like to see some decent Steam Power.
I model Canadian Pacific, Southern British Columbia (the Kooteney/Kettle Valley Divisions), and good running steam is as hard to come by as you are likely to find an express passenger train currently running on the Kettle Valley Railway (hard to do with no rails).
High on my list are a good running (Currently available Bachmann (Botchmann) does not fit the bill) 2-8-0, a good light 2-8-2 Mikado, a good 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler, a good 2-10-0 Decapod and a good 0-6-0 switcher.
Still, I would have to modify most of them with enclosed cabs and other details in order to "Canadianize" them, but, I would at least have a good roster of steam power in order to model the 1920-1950 period.
However, as such a selection of motive power is not yet available, I will continue to model the 1950-1970 (the time I spent growing up alongside the KVR and Kooteney div's) and roster the power which ran on the line, such as the GP7, GP9, RS3, FA/B-1, FA/B-2, H-16-44, H-24-66, C-Liners (Due out in April), GP30, GP35, FPA7, F7B, and SD-40s.
I guess I can't complain, as I do have access to most of the locomotives needed for the period I grew up in, but steam would be nice, and as I am a bit of a maverick, I would probably mix the two eras together (how does an eastbound time freight working up the 2.2% Chute lake grade with 3 SD-40s on the point and a 5700 class 2-10-0 decapod pushing hard at the rear sound?).
Also, a MLW (or even an Alco) M-424, M-630, or M-636 would be great for my modern CP Rail freight which I run on the local Ntrak layout.
    Cheers,

    Terry

Cr*p I screwed up. After checking some pictures and some Technical info they do have split cooling radiators. but other than that they look like a off the shelf C40-8W

CSX had some C44-8W delivered. They were some funky looking things. -8 trucks and Radiators with some -9 stuff mixed in. CSX called them C44-9W anyways because technically (other than the fact they lack split cooling) they are.

If Atlas or anyone else for that matter comes out with a Alco C636 I am geting one and painting in Chessie System. I don't care they didn't own any I just like Alcos.

I would like to see P2K or Atlas come out with the C40-8W because then we could have a C39-8 a C40-8 a C40-8W and a C40-8M (as well as possibly a C32-8 and a C41/44-8W) That has a decent drive and shell.

I think Athearn should redo there SD45 and GP35 as well as come out with a SD45T-2 in there regular drive and a SD70MAC in Genisis.

Other Units that are Extremely need
SD50 (P2K might to do a Limited run Athrean rumored to be coming out with it in the regular line)
    B23-7/B30-7/B36-7 Atlas?
SD40 (you know how many roadnames this could be in)
SD35 (IHC makes one but it sits to high)
