LOL! I was taken back by this seller. Cuss words and threats.lol I think they got burned originally in the purchase of it LOL Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
I doubt your inquiry could have any consequences, but profanity and threats could get them booted- Which some folks deserve.... Especially if they are the kind who fit your theory.
Yea, submitted to ebay lol. Let him go sale happy meal toys on craigslist.lol Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-195...040869?hash=item3ac26d3825:g:KIQAAOSwYmZXIQLI I do wish the 'Bay folks would have a rule concerning use of the word "set". So many are not a set, but just an accumulation, as is this gathered batch. Even if it was a real "set", it's not in any condition to bring close to the asking.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/complete-Li...617674?hash=item2cac243f4a:g:5KoAAOSwQNRXLil7 I don't quite believe I am seeing $950.00 in value here.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-POST...691705?hash=item51e46ce0f9:g:HKIAAOSwLs5XKlgf Ignoring any comments about price, I seem to be seeing an offering which is quite nice in condition. Seems a bit unusual for eBaY listings! If it had been found buried under the barn, they'd be asking twice as much!
No. Horrible photos...dark, grainy, focus issues. Can't really see what you're bidding on. But when the guy admits the "cattle guard" is missing, and you see a light spot below the pilot deck...well, on a 1666 you ain't just gonna call Lionel and order a new cylinder/pilot assembly. Milk car is rough....bent door, nicked paint, looks filthy (again, seller has been to the evilbait how to hide your defects photo school). Whole lotta stuff he claims to have, but no photos. For an 027 set, obviously used (loco pickup sliders), and not sure what the rest looks like, he is WAY high...but there is probably that one (or two) clueless clown(s) who HAVE to have it, and we'll see where bidding goes.
How many months now has this guy been trying to peddle this item? I would think by now he'd figure it out: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-TRAI...784752?hash=item5d654207f0:g:QIUAAOSw7NNT97zO
I don't recall the last price(s), but the seller does not have a history of dropping prices...just re-listing, and re-listing, and re-listing. But, here is the same thing...pawn shop...breaking up loco and tender (surprise?) untested, looks like similar condition, for a whole lot less: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-Line...nder-Black-Heat-Stamped-O-Gauge/371652398927?
This was posted here on 05APR16 for 3500. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Srunning-Ea...435334?hash=item4afc2dbb06:g:iiwAAOSwJQdW~T~M Now it's re-listed at 4,000: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Srunning-Ea...378596?hash=item4b00f19164:g:iiwAAOSwJQdW~T~M Still "Srunning"
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Antiqu...963928?hash=item4b020d2858:g:J1MAAOSwoBtW5eqE 2700 BIN for a fairly common 027 set...cheap caboose (no ladders, toolboxes, windows, stack), stamped sheetmetal flatcar, cheapie 6112 gon, old 027 track, throwaway power pack..and the unpainted plastic loco shell sure seems to be somewhat sun bleached. Now.....here's where it gets interesting: http://www.grahamstrains.com/store/...-Lehigh-Valley-Center-Cab-Diesel-Postwar.html ONE set available....for $259.00. Is this stupid or what?
They should have at least a dozen photos showing closer views. One photo, regardless of their willingness to be contacted, is worse than inadequate. Aside from the fact their price is simply fantasy.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-50S...723681?hash=item41a4522f21:g:lQ4AAOSwUuFWt6HI Says Lionel..it ain't. It's Flyer LONG before Lionel acquired Flyer. 0/S? Really? He can't tell the difference? Floor is pretty badly corroded...wheels are about gone. Smokestack about rusted out. Brakewheel corroded...wire from light socket gone...at least two screws missing.....if you have to "calculate" shipping, it's too much. IF it was free, the shipping exceeds the value. Opinion.
If we start collating this stuff.....sort and sift....we might just be able to re-create the secret handbook evilbait provides these morons to create obtuse listings like this. Looks like the title of the handbook is "How to maximize your profits" with a subtitle of "there is a sucker born every MINUTE!"
Original composition by Phineas Taylor Barnum, with updates by the world's biggest screwy selling site Staff. PS- Yes. I know that phrase is only very loosely attributed to PT. Nobody really knows the origin, but it's still good fun to mention.
