Didja' also notice that he expects positive feedback, if he ships promptly, even if the "moichandize ain't 'zackly whut y'expected".

Allright, so you state that this 'used item' is in good condition and runs well. I pay, get it in five days, put it onto the track and it goes in fits and starts, but makes it around the track. The thing is covered with filth everywhere and smells like cigaret smoke (and I have a GF who smokes, mind you). And I'muh 'pposta' give you 'positive feedback' for that? Allright, if I paid five dollars for it, maybe, but if I paid twenty, or better, you ain't a-gettin' no positive feedback for selling me JUNQUE, even if my subsequent tinkering renders it a serviceable piece.

True, it does depend on what it is. I once paid twenty bananas at a show for an old MDC nineteenth century 2-8-0. The seller stated that it did not run. Allright, I knew what I was getting into, and it was worth the twenty dollars for the parts, but I was sure that I could get it to run. I did manage to get it to run, and run well, at that. If I pay twenty potatoes for anything that Bachperssonn sells, unless it is SPECTRUM steam, it had better run well (or at least as well as some B-manns can be expected to run.

Your twenty potatoes are a long way short of the 104.99 he was asking, the price of a brand new Atlas one with DCC, even if it were a limited run as he tries to have potential customers believe there's no way it's worth that much. Also note there is no photo of the loco out of the box, on a closer look, although he does say the top photo is a stock Walthers photo it's obviously a HO model by the couplers. Why not take a photo of the actual model if you've already taken one of it in the box, digital photos don't cost anything. If I buy anything second hand on Ebay I like to see photos of it out of the box showing both sides if possible. True, he does say one side handrail is missing, but I missed that the first couple of times I read the description. I was probably laughing too much.

He rated the model excellent. This seller is so "out there" that I looked at his completed auctions. He only sold a couple of items out of 2 pages.
You would thing he would figure out that he was asking to much for his junk.

Not exactly my cup of tea but to a collector, they are probably worth that. Current NSC two car sets currently go in the $60-80 range new as is. Out of production sets, who knows. I have bought cars from the seller before and he usually sets a pretty fair price on things.

You would probably freak out at the two B&O cars I would love to have, X414 Tank car which in new condition ends up around $100 and a C&O composite side hopper that I can't remember the number on that is in the same range.

Collector cars are a market all their own and do not have to make sense.

Yeah, I know collector items can get pretty wild. We saw, was it an Illinois State car hit ebay recently for 300?

I was more humored by the guy describing 2 cars as an estate sale. :p

It takes two people to get the numbers that high. That is the scary part.

Kato makes a good loco, but not THAT good. I hope this isn't just about the road name. For that price, one could get a custom paint job that would probably outshine this one any day.

Oh well - willing buyer, willing seller.

The really sad part is it says 'Noisy Runner!'
Now, if Dan says it's noisy, it is! If Dan says it's a good runner, it is. I have bought some of my best running brass models from this seller....cheap!

Wow..What's really goofy, the guy that the high bidder right now hadda bid 35 times against the secong place guy[who apparently just entered a starting bid of $400] so the guy that ran it up to $405 knew exactly what he was getting himself into...

Looks like a bidding war. I hope Dan does not have a few, for fun bidders there. I also have purchased some great stuff from Dan.
