I have just bought tis dcc system, and my new Bachmann gp7 also. When I turn on the system, its shows REV and Speed of 09. If I don't dial down the speed first, the engine jumps to 09 if I happen to hit an F button first to wake up the engine. I cant find anything in the directions regarding this issue.
i have the mrc prodigy express as well, the handheld has a memory and when powered up will show speed / direction , etc, that was set when you power it off ...the decoder on the loco doesnt have speed / direction / light memory .. so when you [for example] toggle the light the controller sends a new data packet which not only includes the light, but speed and direction as well... the controller does not reset speed to zero on power down or power up .... youh ave to set speed to zero before power down if you want it to power up showing speed zero
