    Hi All!
Here is my latest D&H conversion, turning a Rapido Wood Caboose into a standin D&H End Cupola Caboose. Thanks to Jeff Martin for the general Idea ( he did it in HO, mine is in N)
I has a Life-Like NE Caboose cupola, Micro Trains end Grabs, BLMA side grqabs and I added glass.
Besides there is an awful lot of C&O and no D&H on this thread!

Nice job on your project, love seeing anything D&H, I model the D&H in ho scale and had a great grandfather who was a brakeman for the D&H as well as a great uncle who was a electrician for the D&H that I wish I had gotten to meet as I bet they both would have had some great stories to tell.

    Hi!
I have been modeling the D&H for more years than I care to remember. I have one more to do, the 1942 PA "Pusher" caboose. There is a 3D printed one, but it is terrible, extremely brittle and lots of print lines which are almost impossible to remove.
I also have done a GP-39-2 conversion, U33C conversion and am trying to figure out a RS-11/Rs-36. BTW I do have some D&H HO units for sale: GP-38-2s, RS-11s, PA-1s and RS-2s all Life-LIke.
I,ll have to tell you how a friend and I managed to visit all of the yards from Hudson to Rouse's Point. Shoot me an E-Mail at: rbrucearcher at yahoo dot com

I didn't see a lot of the D&H, but got to Hudson a few times. The first photo is from 10/04/1981 and the second from 06/1982.

Got to Colonie once in July 1983, but didn't come away with much. I shot a few of the units seen here. Those U-boats inspired me to soon paint up a pair of my Minitrix units in D&H. :)

Looks like the cupola was moved like an old HO experiment, lol! Still in service at this date?!

I'm not sure what the story was. The area was served by the Pocono Northeast then (absorbed into the Delaware-Lackawanna in the mid-1990s) and the caboose was within their yard. I'm not sure if the Pocono Northeast used it, nor what's happened to the caboose since.

Such a fine paint scheme. She's former LV 317.

Taylor Yard, September 1982. The first and second units are former RDG GP-39-2s.

The D&H was short of modern vans (cabooses) at the turn of the century. So they went on a building spree, all were bobbers. Some had the end cupola design, some did not. When NY signed a bill outlawing the 4-wheel bobber design, the D&H had all of these new bobbers. So they went on a rebuilding program, where they bobbers where lengthened and 4-Wheel trucks were added. So end cupola vans were rebuilt into end cupola vans and the center cupola vans were rebuilt into center cupola. For even more details get the book "D&H Cabooses". presently available.

Some other notes on the images-
The black gon is a Bethlehem "Mill" gon acquired just prior to Conrail. The boxcar behind is an 8' door PS-1
The Yellow hopper is an "Illmenite" car use to ship Illmenite from Tahawus. On Yu Tube there is a clip with the Raritan River RR shoving a string to the Dutch Boy plant in Parlin NJ
The blue dip U33C, No.758, was the only 6-axle U-Boat to get the dip scheme. All went out of service during Guilford, which we will not talk about.
35824 was a flanger rebuilt into a transfer caboose

Here are my GP-39-2 and U33C conversions. I now need to get the trucks correct....7407 and 7408 are ex-Reading GP-39-2s. 7407 is in Reading "patch" and 7408 is in a "Dip" scheme. Also my D&H U33C conversion. I need to find the pilot conversion. D&H 758 was the only U33C in the "Dip" scheme. DSCN0001.JPG GP-39-2B.JPG Image 11.JPG Image 11.JPG GP-39-2B.JPG DSCN0001.JPG
