I have been touching up the colored stripes on the trailer with a very small brush and am ready to get this thing done. I masked off the trailer this morning and was able to airbrush the purple color on the tractor and trailer. The tractor MAY stay solid purple, at any rate here are some samples of my effort today : 1 - just removed the bottom paint mask, not too bad : 2 - Top mask removed : oops ! 3 - I left the tail end to be white : Pretty rough, I know, but after this thing dries and cures for 4-5 days i will take some 2,000 grit wet/dry to it to knock down rough spots on the color change lines. I shall make a couple of masks and touch up the white strip, it is worse on curbside of rig. I mucked up the headdress on the tractor 3 times by attempting to add a second color stripe around the NIKE like logo. I think I shall re-do it in only yellow. After all the paint cures and dries and touch ups are completed I shall seal the paint job with an Alclad Aqua Gloss Clear sealer before applying decals. It is interesting to see how the purple color shows differently under different light brightness. Thanks for looking, be well !
Another update. I have re-masked some of the stripes (white) to smooth them out and I masked off and repainted the solid white area on the bottom whoop-de-do. Looks better, I think. Also I added the tractor headdress in the orange and I shall add some yellow highlighting round the orange. After all of the paint has cured/dried for another 4-5 days, I shall airbrush both with the Delta Ceramcoat gloss varnish before applying the decals, which I need to start making. I see that I need to straighten up the orange stripe between yellow/white on top. I keep telling myself " be patient little mule, you will get there soon ". Be well !
