Ah, I was able to back the video up and got to see it arrive after the fact, at least, at about 7:15 PM. 11 cars behind EMD U.P. SD70M #4533.

I see they changed the information format in the north view. It is now over at the upper left and they have Amtrak train information. I assume the only trains we will see are the west-bound or arrivals from the west on the former Milwaukee Road tracks. Or treats like the U.P. train on the former C&NW tracks.

I see the U.P. train is parked on track 5 this morning.

Hardcoaler posted that shot of it at the grade crossing. I'll have to google it to see if I can find a close-up.

So with the reporting mark of METX - Metra doesn't classify itself as a 'railroad' just a third party company that operates commuter trains.

They also use NIRC for some locos, which confuses me. Another confusion is why they use met"x" when they supposedly own the Milwaukee West commuter line (and possibly other lines).

I just drove under a bridge on the old Milwaukee line last week and it was labeled with "Metra" not Soo or CP.

I'm confused by a lot of the labels attached to rail lines today, but I guess that comes with age. I'm more apt to say something like "the SOU mainline from Spartanburg" rather than "the W Line" which references nothing to me. Or my calling them C&NW lines rather than UP. I guess line legacies matter less these days, but my memories seem not so long ago.

Heck, I still call the tracks through town here, "The Milwaukee Road" and the bridge into which they made a bike trail, the "CGW bridge".

Most all, if not all, Class 1's have some form of computer aided dispatching. When it comes to searching, computers like finding singular answers over multiple answers. Today's Class 1's are the result of multiple Fallen Flag carriers being merged or acquired into today's carriers. Humans being humans, many of the Fallen Flag carriers had track segments named the same; while that worked for the Fallen Flag those names had to be changed to eliminate duplicity in the final merged carrier.

Those cars, the light gray (I said white, before but they do look like they are a very light gray) ones with the blue strip down the middle and red pinstripes do look like they are the older commuter cars, don't they, with the four windows in each corner instead of six.

And, now I am confused. I talked about that building they are restoring on the right in the north view and I thought it was the former Cassidy Tire building, but now, I saw an article that showed that building being demolished in June of 2022! So now, I'm wondering what the heck building that is. I mean, it's right next to the Milwaukee Road tracks, north side, and that's where the Cassidy building was.

The C&NW Heritage unit was in and out again this morning. Seems to be a regular visitor.

Yes, it was absent for a few days this last week but it's usually right in there with the rest of the F40s. Now, if they would just paint all those commuter cars yellow and green...

Those buildings just to the east of the shed, obviously residential apartment/condo buildings, are interesting because, to me, they look like '70's/'80's architecture but they had to have been built, at the latest, in the '50's because they are there in the picture of Pacific #1571 and the RDCs Dan posted a while back.

As is almost universal with internet entities, these days, they get worse as time passes. When these views of the C&NW terminal were first unveiled, in July, they worked very well. Now, last week, I got the "...not available" for the east and south views. I first thought it might be temporary but they didn't come back, so I started and saved them from YouTube again and they worked again.

Today, the ..."not available" message appears, again.

I get the same thing Doug. I think what happens is that if for any reason, the camera goes of line, a service blip, power outage, reboot, etc, when it reconnects to YouTube, it gets assigned a different url/address on YouTube and breaks any link/favorite you have saved. Still enjoying watching it from time to time even though I have to search for it now. :)
