Where have all the walthers #6 turnouts gone? No hobby stores seem to carry them and online suppliers don't have them in stock. Standard Hobby sent me a letter asking if I wanted to cancel my order. Since I can't finish my layout without the turnouts, then I can't really cancel my order. Atlas turnouts just are not as good and shinohara is too expensive. Model railroading is fun, a nice steaming pile of fun at times. Suppose I could go back to model rocketry while my layout collects dust and eight legged tennants.
The problem is that Walthers is changing to a new "DCC Friendly" turnout. If you go to the Walthers link below, you will see that the new turnouts are expected the beginning of August. You will need to change your order because no more of the older models are being made.
