I have some Stewart/Kato F3 Phase I Locos in the Northern Pacific road name and some Phase II in the Southern Pacific road name. All locos have two headlights - one on top of the other. For these road names can anyone tell me if they made use of a mars light? If so, was the mars light on top or on the bottom? I want to install a DCC decoder and make use of a mars light if this was appropriate for these railroads. Thanks, Michael Dove Grand Junction, CO
I have tons of NP F unit photos. Most have the headlights below (2 side by side in the lower lens housing), and the class lights above. (1 red and 1 white in an above/below orientation in the same lens housing with red at the bottom)
It sounds like what you are describing as far as the upper lens is that this is the lighting configuration for a passenger train (red light). Since my locos are for freight would there just be two lights in the upper lens, and would they be in a top/bottom configuration?
